As a child of the lead hunter of the mountain tribe he belonged to, he wanted so badly to follow in his father's shadow. However, in the grey and white of the northern mountains, his bright colors gave away his positioning so easily that the traditional hunting tactics never worked. Then, the Swamp dwellers came. He was too young to remember much about the Obelisk and their battle, but one thing he did retain from their stories was some of the tools they used to hunt. It took some hard work and a lot of thinking, but eventually, from the combined efforts of the stories of the Marsh Hunters and his own cleverness, he figured out a simple trap. His traps were loose and poorly made, but after trial and error, he finally managed to snag his first catch! Despite his pride in his traps, he didn't have the stomach for killing.
He carried the name Trapper for a short while, until his father learned that when Trapper was sent to check the traps, any creature that wasn't already dead when he found it was kept in a small cave just outside of their territory, to be nursed back to health. From then on, he was known as Trapper Keeper, the snare who healed his prey.
