"So, there I was," said Sleepy Time, in what was clearly meant to be an ominous sounding voice but was instead coming across as a little shrill, "minding my own business, you see, I was just trying to take a nap, as one does, and I was on the edge of a forest, right near a particularly unpleasant patch of swamp. It smelled quite foul, and I was wrinkling my nose so much because it was just so bad, and, well, I usually nap elsewhere, but there was a bear where I normally go, and I've not had to deal with one of those in a while, and - "
There was an intermission where Sleepy Time continued discussing the logistics of dozing with a bear nearby and got wholly off track, forgetting entirely the original purpose of the story.
" - and then I said - I said, well I haven't gotten very far and I shouldn't have to go back in there, because there was too much honey, you see, and - oh, wait - were there crocodiles? I suppose I should get back to those."
A long pause followed this, Sleepy Time staring off into space. He may or may not have dozed off with his eyes open. A second later, he jerked back awake and finished with, "Well, I got bit by a crocodile for stepping on it even though it was a rather silly accident, and completely unfair, but there you have it."
