"Oh crocodiles!" Strange Creature practically explodes. "They're beautiful, one of the most beautiful creatures in the swamp, and they're such loving and attentive parents! The babies have this little high-pitched squeak that brings their mommies running right over if they're scared or threatened, and they'll even carry the babies around on their heads and in their mouths. I've had children twice- do you have any kids?- and both times I looked to the crocodile for inspiration. They're so good at letting their offspring develop independence without being overbearing, and yet they'll be there to tackle any overwhelming challenges." She sighed, reverently thinking about the beauty of crocodiles. "They do eat kin sometimes, but if it's your time, it's your time, right?"

Forward by Choice had seen caiman in the swamp and had hunted them before. He went on to describe the usual signs one looked for in the water or on the river bank. When they reminded him about how they wanted a story, the totoma paused and considered what he could share. And he remembered the time he had brought one of his children along during a hunt.

"Things were going well for the most part. We'd been maneuvering the caiman towards the spot we'd set a trap in. For some reason, my daughter changed tactics and swerved away. Turns out there had been a second caiman that came out of nowhere. My daughter was able to spot them and after switching out what we were going to do, we came home with two prey." He looked and sounded proud of his child's skill.
