Remake the World openly stared at the ancient zikwas, her brows furrowing in thought. They were strange yet familiar. She wondered if they were ageless immortals. They were openly curious about snow and winter as most of the kin were about them, a small circle surrounding the finned zikwas. Conversation was not happening, just nonhostile inquisitive glances. Food was a near foolproof bridge between different worlds. Remake the World left to gather supplies.

A short time later, she drags a broadleaf. "Here, each of you try one."

A frozen cattail packed with snow with crushed berry juice decorated each offering. "You gnaw on it and suck the ice and berries off. It's drinking water in a different shape!"
