Truly Mine smiled broadly at him, tail swaying as she carefully positioned the stone between the two of them. She lifted her fore-hooves, balancing precariously on her hindlegs for a second, stood up tall. Sank back down a moment, and then gestured. "Shield your eyes, but watch- you want to catch the rock with your hoof-tip, but on the thickest part. Mind the soft part, and try not to crack your hooves. You might chip it- but you look well-fed." She'd broken hers a time or ten, before she figured out what she needed to eat to strengthen them. "Sucking bones and chewing them helps, too," she muttered, and then lofted herself once more- and slammed down with practiced precision. She heard that oh-so-satisfying
crack, and her hoof met hard ground beneath the stone. She stepped back, gingerly, and then looked down at it carefully.
"Let's see..."
Oh.
Within the geode, beautiful gems, barely damaged, refracted light amongst its crystalline structures. Sunrise, sunlight, caught in stone. Truly Mine gasped softly, and then stepped back, tucking her forelegs as she lowered herself to get a better look. "I've never seen one this beautiful before- my, but you are a lucky charmer, aren't you~"
