As Look-See was often in water, it wasn't a surprise that she opened up her eyes and she was standing in a pool of water up to her chest. She felt right as rain in the flowing waters of life. The current around her started up and though she should have been bashed against the waves or pulled out to sea, the opposite was happening. Closer the seaweed around her ankles seemed to pull her towards the shore. The waves all but pushing her, Look-See surmised she was in a dream. Like a fish out of water, she left her safe place and home for the foreign terrain. The sky as blue as the water and vegetation bright green, her dream was saturated and brimming with possibilities.
On land, she shook off the water as per usual. This time there was water in her ear. Odd for a dream but perhaps this was the making of a nightmare. She sidestepped and hopped on one foot before switching to the other and continuing again. She shook her ears one way and the other, more water flew out. Again she completed this awkward dance until she was surrounded by a puddle and her shrinking shadow. Looking up, the sun was at its zenith as it had been the entire time. Whereas time moved oddly in a dream, it did not account for her dwindling shadow. Staring at her paws to stabilize herself, she noticed she most certainly did not have hooves. Nor did she have claws customary of her lynx form. Her tail twitched and nearly blinded her left eye. Whereas she had a cute stubby tail in her lynx form, she was not used to the glorious two tails that beat a steady rhythm against her body. She was more diminutive than either of her forms.
Look-See ran to the shore and this time, nothing stood in her way or propelled her in the opposite direction. If anything, the swamp seemed to be bending to accommodate her. Peering at the welcoming waves, she saw her eyes staring back in a form that was not hers originally. Cruel beauty looked back on sensual eyes tipped mischievously upward. Twin tails dueled one another and her dainty paws were criminally soft against her form. Stretching lengthwise, she preened and admired the lithe shape of her new form.
Look-See smiled at her reflection, not seeing it. She looked fondly back on her memory of meeting the flox the very first time. She had bopped it and it returned the gesture in turn unsure, but so eager to prove it was not afraid. And then it rain back to its owner. With every step it took, it was graceful. For all of Look-See's blind ways, grace was not in her name, no matter the practice steps and lithe dance moves she studied earnestly under the moonless canopies where none could see her. But this form made her heart sing, and she had so much to show the swamp. A new look on life, Look-See bounded off with her new form, her paws barely touching the ground as she ate up distance at a surprising rate for something so tiny. Dreamlife was very good.
