Only totally normal things to see here
You wander past the large blossoming tree, eyeing the shifting scenes within it's shadow. This was a pretty strange Winter Market, and you found yourself searching for a familiar stump among the booths. After the traumatizing maze experience of last year, you were eager to take in the ashes of it's destruction, if only to soothe your worry that somehow, the maze and it's terrors would be back.
But no, the maze is gone and the remnants of the fire in the scorched bark around this part of the clearing means you're definitely in the right place. At the center of the charred, barren section of the market sits a sad, blackened stump.
"I just wanted it back," A whisper grabs your attention, and you turn to see a rippling shadowy version of a doe you think you recognize from somewhere. A haunting figure, with white flickering where their eyes should be. "It's the only home I know,"
The figure moves, walking forward and out of the strange fog that's been floating through the clearing and suddenly all is colorful and bright. She is the green Acha doe that may or may not have set this place on fire last season. She grins. "WELCOME TO THE STUMP!"
She skips over, her form flickering back and forth as she swishes through the mist. "I know it's a little bare this year." "It's all my fault." "But don't worry because -" "Why do I keep pretending that -"
"Everything is FINE."
......... At least there were no mosquitoes to be seen.... yet.

Sometimes the Stump is okay and sometimes it's noooot.
If lighthearted fun is what you're looking for, you can do the "Normal" Stump experience. If you'd like the opportunity to explore your kin's deep dark true feelings and beat them up emotionally, you can do the scary one. Look, we have options!
Rules
1. You can submit a maximum of three prompts a week. You can do them all in one day or spread them out, it's your choice! I'll count 11:59 PM EST Sunday night as the weekly cut off.
2. You can choose if your kin happens upon a completely normal Stump or a terrible AU Stump. You don't need to stick with just one (unless you want to!).
3. You can respond to the prompts through RP and/or art! Please write at least a few sentences to get the point across.
4. All entries gain one ticket for the raffle at the end of the event.
5. Please do not use AI for your entries.
6. The most you can win here is 1 kin and 1 familiar!
7. Weird things happen here. Be careful of what you tell the Stump. It remembers.
If you have any questions, please DM or @ me on Discord!

The Stump is Fine
The Stump seems okay and totally normal. Tricks prances back and forth behind it, before tapping the top with her hooves. The surface caves inward a bit, but she pays it no mind at all, because everything is fine.
"Wow it's been a few seasons since I last saw you, huh? What a crazy time! Anyway the Stump is back to normal - so you know the drill!"
She gestures to the hole at the top of the Stump.
"You put your pebble in here and then an amazing prize comes out of the bottom! Really simple!"
Put a pebble in the Stump.
[Art by Lolly]
Roll 1d30 to see what you get from the Stump.

2. You receive a colorful feather.
3. You hear a buzzing noise. No. It can't be. But it is. It's bees.
4. A strange, misshapen and very dead fish slides out of the Stump. Tricks grimaces. "Maybe you could bring it to Sea of Tears?"
5. A broken horn rolls out of the Stump.
6. You receive nothing but a haunting wail from within the Stump. "Probably the wind." Tricks coughs.

The Stump is Not Okay
"They were so mean to me. They betrayed me. They drove me away." Shadow Tricks whispers.
She looks to the side and an amalgam of various shadowy kin stretch into existence.
"They tricked me. Helped her hurt me. I don't trust anyone anymore."
She is suddenly too close. The white holes that are her eyes sear into your own.
"Now it's your turn. Feed the Stump."
You glance down to see that the Stump has opened up. Long, incredibly sharp teeth stretch wide and milky white eyes crack open from beneath the charred bark to stare at you.
How will you feed it?
This shadowy AU is a dark reflection of your kin. Jagged and scary, yes, but still a reflection. Perhaps it could even be a part of themselves that they thought they left behind or someone they could've become had they made different choices. Whether your kin turn into shadows themselves or see their shadows separate from themselves is up to you! You can do whatever you want, be creative and go with whatever inspires you. Be freeee!
Roll 1d20 and respond to the prompt that you roll.
