Gloom walked through the arbor and admired the hard won design of the place. He had spent weeks coaxing the vines to encircle the twin trunks. When the air temperatures lowered and the air chilled, the vines will die off. They'll leave behind a skeleton of crisscrossing vines for future growths to build upon. He nodded to himself. Victory was so sweet. It was wonderful seeing the fruits of his labor and this particular type bloomed the most fragrant during the night. Kin were undecided on what happened after death. Some speculated kin ceased to exist and so did all thoughts. Some spoke of an afterlife. Gloom liked to think he would have these flowers somewhere wherever it was that kin went. They were sublime and reminded him of Doom and Look-See, and their fleeting time together.
