[PRP] Watching waves [Baywatch/Worlds Within Worlds]

Post by Beejoux »

It'd been a few weeks now, or perhaps months? Since Worlds Within Worlds had arrived on the idealic little slice of paradise dubbed The Cres. Time was a funny thing, Worlds felt its passing, but it was hard to truly say how long she'd really been there now. It's been warm when she arrived, it was warm now, still. In the past the colorful had not felt the want to linger in one place too long. Always drawn along the coast by the whisper of the waves beckoning her onward. There'd been no such push to leave, so this was where she'd stayed.

Home, at least for now. For how long, only the ocean could say, but she hoped it would allow her to stay a while. It was beautiful here, the beach was wide and lengthy, and the waves danced endlessly across the sandy shores.

She was meandering up towards the point today, humming quietly. To herself as she waded ankle deep through the surf, long hair damp at the ends from the highest waves. Occasionally she spotted the fresh prints from a shuppy and she smiled, wondering if she'd run into the little beasty.

[PRP] Watching waves [Baywatch/Worlds Within Worlds]

She was perched on the rocks, but not resting. Tensed, ready to leap into action, to throw herself unbridled and entirely into the surf, prepared to dive at a moment's notice...

But everybody was being safe today. Nobody was swimming near a riptide, nobody was doing something horrifically stupid with jellyfish, nobody was jumping off the sharp rocks... somebody had fallen into a shuppy hole, but that was just life in the Cres. They could extricate themselves.

It was kind of a shame, because the salt spray had made her hair look amazing, and she would have looked super great running through the surf to save someone. That wasn't why she did it of course. The beach could be a dangerous place, and she didn't want anyone to get hurt! So she watched, and she watched, and she watched... one of the brightest does she'd ever seen coming up towards the point. She looked like a coral reef come to life. She looked like a leafy seadragon had grown legs. She looked like the kind of rainbow you got at the bottom of a waterfall.

She looked amazing. Who was she? She couldn't have been here long, Baywatch would have absolutely noticed her before. Whoever this girl was, Baywatch had to know more.

At the same time, she couldn't leave her post. So she waved, hoping the stranger would approach. "Come on up!" she hollered. "You get the best view of the surf from here."

It was entirely possible Worlds would have continued on her way completely oblivious to any other kin around her unless she very nearly tripped over them. So hollering at her was a good idea. It made her pause, bright eyes blinking as she glanced around the beach, then up towards the pale, coral colored doe that seemed to be keeping watch over the beach from her perch up in the rocks. Over what, was the question, and Worlds was keen to ask it.

With a serene smile she turned to walk up the beach so she could make her careful way up the rocks to where the other doe was waiting. This close she could see the fragmented shards of what looked like crystals floating around the slender column of her throat. "What magic is this that keeps glittering fragments of color bound to you like that?" She asked in a quietly curious voice, fairly certain she'd not seen anything like it before, not in all her wanderings. Rays from the sun caught and split, painting the rocks around them in dancing lights.
