The Tea Party: Summer 2023 Event

Spring has come and gone, bringing with it storms and new life; flowers blooming, new trees growing in, kin courting and celebrating in the sunshine. Now Summer approaches with a soggy kind of heat. Before it arrives, perhaps we can all gather for one more celebration, while a breeze still lingers to cut through the swamp, before the sun presses down like a hot hand.

In these last days of summer, some new creatures emerge in the swamp. Long, wingless dragons, who leave in their wake a new kind of plant -- one which can be brewed into a tasty beverage....

Today start's Matope's 2023 (slightly early) summer event, on the subject of a Tea Party! This is a classic month long event with a range of contests, events, raffles, for people to particpate in. You're also welcome to create PRPs in the RP subforum on the theme of this event, tea parties, or meeting the new Tea Dragon familiars!

Your story should be somewhere between 250 and 1000 words; if you tell your story as a kin and hit 500 words, this can absolutely count as your Legendary Storytelling Req!

Come seek out the tea dragon’s party! In this game, you’ll be writing as one of your kin. You’ll be asked to roll for prompts and respond as your kin travels a strange and uncharted wood in the swamp. Completing the prompts will grant you between one and five tickets in the raffle for the fabulous prizes above, and you may enter up to three times. If your response is 500 or more words, you may count it as a solo for legendary requirements, or you can complete the prompt with a friend. In that case, each of you would roll and respond to the events together, and your entry may count as a roleplay for legendary requirements.

If you don't currently have a kin at Matope, you can invent one for the purposes of this event.

Additional tickets may be awarded at the end by staff as a token for effort or skill.

For a shot to take one of these home, please use the template in the thread to design a tea set how you'd most like it! You can draw patterns, colors, shapes, creatures, or even style your set after a kin of yours, whatever strikes this fancy!

A delicious tea service has been laid out in front of you!
To close out our contest, we're offering a delicious Tea Service spread, full of tasty goodies! All you have to do to participate is to post a tea treat recipe of your own -- whether that means a treat that's made out of tea, or some delicious snack that would go alongside it! What would you bring to the tea party? Let us know!
