[solo] learn to fly (Guardian of Life)

Post by Lirilei »

Guardian of Life had spent the day busy with the groves, and helping with a few other things....and through it all she found herself surrounded by moths, her own, those belonging to other kin in the tribe, several new ones that were to be paired up with young ones soon. It was a busy, but fulfilling day, and when she curled up in the nest next to Pestilence to sleep, her mind decided it wasn't done. No, it took wing so to speak, and she found herself no longer on the ground, instead she was bobbing along unsteadily in the sky, flapping her wings wings? unsteadily, trying to figure out how they worked. They were large and unwieldy and every bit of breeze coming at her felt like she was going to topple from the sky at any moment.

After some trial and error she found her rhythm and flew across the area with more grace, and found herself elated. This was an amazing thing to experience, this floating weightlessness. Looking around she spotted other moths, some she recognized from the tribe, others were unfamiliar and yet it didn't matter. There was a warmth in her, and as Guardian of Life thought about it, she recognized the warmth. It was love. It was love for her family, her tribe. She felt a strong connection to them in this form, and it made her heart sing in a new way.

As she grew more confident in her flying, Guardian flew faster, flew higher, and even did a few little tricks, like lazy loops, and dives, and she found herself laughing in a new way. This was such an amazing feeling! Traveling with the other moths she toured the tribe lands, seeing them through new eyes, and with a new understanding.

With several of the other moths she found herself in other places around the tribe lands, and the realization hit her of how easily she could get around now, the dainty yet strong wings able to carry her far, quickly. She could be gone less time, get to those who needed her quicker, and the ideas made her mind race, her heart to beat faster. The possibilities were endless now, she realized.

Looping through the sky she made her way back to the Mothborn lands, and swooped through familiar paths with ease, watching kin laugh at the antics she and the other moths were up to, and she smiled feeling lighter in more ways than one. Finally she started towards a familiar place, her home within the tribe, and fluttering her way into the nest she walked all around it, seeing it through these new eyes before she climbed up on Pestilence, and began to get comfortable on him. Relaxing her wings they drooped along his neck and she let her eyes come to a close there against her mate, though even as she began to sleep again, she still felt the wind beneath her wings, the lightness in her soul and she smiled feeling more connected than ever to her family and tribe.
