[PRP] Plunder [Buried at Sea x Disorder]
[imgleft]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... uncert.png[/imgleft]
She would finally find it this time, the doe decided. She felt it in her bones. Buried at Sea looked out beyond the tiny isle she and her brother claimed as theirs, and out to the swamp. And further.
The doe regularly made trips out to the sea, and did her best to fight the current and dive to find the treasure she was so sure the Motherfather meant her to find.
It was dangerous work. More so than she wished to tell Fresh Start, though she figured he was regularly too distracted with passersby to drag any details out of her. Either one day she would return with whatever was out there, or she wouldn't return at all.
And that was that, as far as she was concerned.
She spent the previous day preparing for the journey ahead, and tied provisions to her flank. By now it was by rote.
She did not bother to wake the green buck to let him know she was heading off; he would know well enough when she did not come back that night with any fresh kill. She also did not care to hear his regular retort of how often she was sure that she would find her dream-treasure. There was some comfort in the fact that if she didn't return home, they would have left on decent terms.
And something about his having grandchildren on the way? Good for him. It was about time that he let them continue the family line. In any case, as long as someone else was doing it and didn't mind that she couldn't be bothered.
She had more important things to do.
With that, she trekked. The usual path through the mire, traced by landmarks and stark memories of where the caimen were best avoided.
She would smell the salt air soon enough.

Re: [PRP] Plunder [Buried at Sea x Disorder]
[imgright]http://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/image ... uncert.png[/imgright] Wild-haired and wild-eyed, Disorder cared not for where the caiman might dwell. Nor for the comfort of anyone in the vicinity. She stomped, she laughed, she splashed. She danced carelessly in the muck, daring any beast to give her a snap. She’d bite back, harder.
She didn’t know this area but somebody had told her if she kept moving down this trail it would lead her to the Big Water. Where the water frothed white and terrifying giant fish with razor sharp teeth stalked the waves. How delightful!
But it had been days now and she was causing a ruckus because she had realized she might be in need of some assistance. A guide, perhaps. It was far too easy to lose her way and become distracted.
That was how she had lost her family oh so many seasons ago.
Doing this would surely get someone’s attention.

Ruckus certainly caught her attention. The doe paused upon hearing it. First she felt threatened, as if someone were in her territory. But then she remembered that she had crossed that threshold a while ago. She had to tilt her head to hear sounds of distress. It sounded...close, but not quite. Screams and laughter almost sounded the same to her. Both were annoying.
Still, she found herself curious. A momentary distraction, if nothing else. She could at least see and then have a tale to share when she returned home.
Or it could be a murderer and she would have to fight. That was fine; she thought she had such sharp teeth for a reason.
Buried at Sea stepped closer, doing her best to stay quiet. Her blues and purples could only blend in so well with the foliage, however.

Re: [PRP] Plunder [Buried at Sea x Disorder]
A dragonfly was darting angrily around her head, the oversized insect displeased with how she was displacing everything around her. Disorder snapped at it. Snap. Snap. Snap! But it was far too quick, darting away to find prey somewhere that wasn’t being terrorized by a large, brightly coloured nuisance.
Disorder snorted happily and continued to stomp around in the mud, turning in slow content circles. It felt nice under her hooves, all squishy. She wasn’t really looking but as she turned something caught her eye. She continued with her motion, coming to the slow realization that that particular shade of blue wasn’t a normal swampy colour.
She completed another turn and stopped to peer into foliage. Was that a big bluey purple flower or was someone hiding over there? Her eyesight had never been very good.
“Anyone there?” She asked.

Re: [PRP] Plunder [Buried at Sea x Disorder]
Buried at Sea squinted.
She had a choice before her.
Stay in place and hope the other doe moved along, turn and leave, or...respond. And give herself away, like a fool.
Fresh Start would say she should socialize more. Buried at Sea would say he needed a good bite for managing to affect her conscience.
She snorted. Then took a breath. Fine.
"What in all of the swamp are you doing over here?" Her words came out more as a snarl than anything else, her mind still on the doe's display stomping around and biting at things like a foal.

A response!
Her eyes widened, even more so than usual. Someone had found her, just as she had hoped! She liked her already, even if the bluey purple doe was still somewhat a blur.
Disorder hastened towards the voice with big stompy steps. With her legs and sides splattered with mud and both her eyes and hair completely wild, she was quite the sight.
“I was waiting for you!” She crowed. “You took ages!”
She came to a halt in front of the other doe, looked her over with her head tilted to one side and then the other. Toothy, dangerous. Like a brightly-coloured toad... but with more teeth. Disorder liked her already.
“Well, are you ready to go?”

Re: [PRP] Plunder [Buried at Sea x Disorder]
"I..." Her nasty response died in her throat.
Buried at Sea, as a rule, did not keep company with other kin besides a select few of her relatives, and most of the time that was because Fresh Start was a bleeding heart who didn't boot out his lovers or his love-babies no matter how inconvenient they tended to be.
And this doe looked like she would be an absolute nuisance.
But her horns were...rather fetching, and that mess of a mane, and those eyes...
The Motherfather worked in mysterious ways.
Besides, if it became absolutely unbearable, she could let the doe drown herself.
Her jaw snapped back shut. "I have been ready all my life. This way."
She turned and began to walk off.
@Ruriska Hi again

Re: [PRP] Plunder [Buried at Sea x Disorder]
And Disorder followed.
It didn’t occur to her (maybe she wasn't even capable of such thoughts occurring) that she didn’t know this doe or where she was now being led to. She simply presumed that they were going the right way towards where she wanted to be.
“What are you going to do when we get there?” Disorder asked in her very loud voice, trotting up to the other does side and pressing in as close as possible without tripping the both of them up.
“I’m going to swim and swim and swim until I find the tooth fish and then I’m going to fight it and steal its teeth.” She grinned, hopping forward a couple of steps in her excitement.
@Gl!tch~ well hello

Re: [PRP] Plunder [Buried at Sea x Disorder]
Buried at Sea leaned away from such close company.
The only reason she didn't bite the doe, she told herself, was because she jumped away before Buried at Sea could reach over. It clearly wasn't because she was startled by the attention or anything.
She showed her teeth while she spoke next, to at least get the warning across.
"What you call a 'tooth fish' is probably a shark. And if you fight one of those, you will probably die," she commented in a toneless fashion.
"I myself am going to see how the tide looks. If the tide is low, I will go out as far as I can before it gets too deep and see if I can find anything interesting. If the tide is high, I will dig in the sand. And then I will tire, and then I will rest." Like she had done many times before, it was by rote by this point.

Re: [PRP] Plunder [Buried at Sea x Disorder]
Disorder coked her head thoughtfully as she considered this new information about the tooth fish. Or rather, the shark. She much preferred her name for it. Shark? It didn’t say anything about it at all! What a useless name! And she was still determined to fight one. "Don't worry, I haven't died yet, so I don't think I can." Flawless logic spoken with a grin.
“Oh!” She exclaimed, eyes widening with delight. “That sounds fun! I’ll come too! We’ll dig together and tire and rest. It will be fun! I think we’ll find so many things. Tooth fish teeth and skeletons! A really cool rock! And then -” she tensed and dropped her head as if to look intimidating as she growled, “I will beat the shark tooth fish!“

Re: [PRP] Plunder [Buried at Sea x Disorder]
Buried at Sea snorted. It was the only way she could keep herself from laughing despite herself.
For an annoying kimeti, there was some charm there. Buried at Sea relaxed her efforts to scare the kin off, or dismiss her as much. But she wasn't about to be any less honest.
"If you fight a shark, I will not save you. But I will at least learn something from your foolish efforts. And, perhaps, there will be rocks and skeletons to be found. Perhaps even...cool...ones."
