Introduction
What is this tribe?
The Crescent Bay, often called The Cres by locals, is a tribe of kin who like to call the bay home. As shuppies aren't found in the wild anywhere else, The Cres has become known for them. The kin from the area respect the shuppies and live in harmony with them, often taming them to help make life by the sea easier.

Requirements
Are there any racial requirements?
There are no racial requirements for this tribe. Kimeti, kiokote, acha, totoma, and zikwa are all eligible to join this tribe! They just need to have a love for life on the bay, contribute something to the community, and have a reverence for shuppies!
Can my kin be a part of another tribe?
As The Crescent Bay is at the edge of the swamp on the ocean, being a part of any other tribes would be difficult for any kin to do so. For the most part, this tribe is asking for some level of exclusivity due to its remote nature but it isn't an absolute necessity as long as their roles are still being fulfilled. Adventurers would theoretically be allowed to join another tribe while they're away (politics are a great way to bring resources back to The Cres) and Fisheye encourages the Adventurers to rest before making the trip back out to The Crescent Bay as it really can be brutal.

Roles
You don't have to be GOOD at your role. It's ideal, but not necessary.
What are Adventurers?
Adventurers are kin that are deeply rooted in the culture of The Cres. So deeply in fact that they chose to make the dangerous trip to and from the bay to deliver goods and news from across the swamp to their tribe. Some adventurers may also use messenger birds (or other animals) rather than traveling themselves.
What are Fisherkin?
Fisherkin spend much of their day on the beach, pulling in nets for fish. Alternatively they might prefer to use a shuppy companion to catch fish or their own body. Whatever gets the job done! They often use the tides by Moonpool Island to make catching fish easier.
What are Greeters?
Greeters are typically charged with being present on the beach, marking the territory with their presence should anyone stumble past the scouts and into The Crescent Bay accidentally. They're essentially the welcome crew, but they know how to handle themselves! They aren't required to do much heavy lifting but they often help organize the festivals and may be asked to do miscellaneous tasks that can be accomplished easily on the beach.
What are Guardians?
Guardians mostly operate out of a private section of Moonpool Island that outsiders aren't given access to. They're in charge of foraging, processing food, and keeping watch over the supplies. They keep an active tally of how much of the food reserves remain during any given day for the tribe, and are consulted before any festivals or season changes. Within the Guardians, there are three major positions that are distinguished by their daily duties. One group forages resources from outside of the bay, one group processes food for storage and the other group keeps watch over the reserves, keeping track of what goes in and out of the storage cave.
What are Menders?
Menders are healers and are in charge of the health of the tribe. They may specialize in a specific type of medicine, or be more robust in their knowledge. They're generally respected throughout the tribe since being far from the rest of the swamp without any sort of mending could mean the literal death of the tribe should things take a turn for the worst.
What are Rescuers?
Rescuers are often on the beach or the surrounding area. There may be no riptides in the bay but having strong swimming skills is recommended for Rescuers. They also are tasked with filling in the holes that the shuppies dig and dragging any kin who accidentally fall into them... out of them. Sometimes they're lovingly referred to as "kin-dragging-outers" as kin falling into holes that weren't there earlier happens more than you'd think.
What are Scouts?
Scouts travel but not as far from The Cres as Adventurers may. Their job is more in line with protecting The Crescent Bay than traveling the swamp. They tend to come home each evening, or every other day. They might also patrol the boundaries for any sign of danger.
Unsure if any of these roles fit your kin but you really want to join?
Feel free to suggest a role for your kin! This is a growing tribe unlimited by current roles and I am happy to accommodate if I feel like it could fit (and there isn't much I don't think couldn't). If it works, I'll write up a new role for it.

Territory
Where is The Crescent Bay, and what sort of territory does The Cres have?
The Cres is a seaside tribe operating out of a large bay called The Crescent Bay that is located at the southern coast of the swamp. The surrounding swamp, beach, and the tidal island at the tip of the crescent are all part of the territory of The Crescent Bay tribe.
ㅤ Caves are immensely common in The Crescent Bay area. They can be found in the sheltered forests around the beach, along the rock formations on the bay's beach and even on the seafront cliffs toward the outskirts of the area. They offer a sheltered protection unique to The Crescent Bay and helps support the kin that choose to live here. It's also suspected to be reason shuppies seem to prefer life here as well.
Moonpool Island, the tidal island at the tip of The Crescent Bay, is full of caves and deeply rooted trees that seem to stand the test of time. The roots are so expansive that they almost appear to hold the island above sea level. At the center of the island lies a respectably sized pool of water, clear of any algae or plant life. The water is so clear that the moon's reflection can viewed nearly perfectly through it during a full moon. Legend says that if a couple drinks from the pool then their love will also stand the test of time.

Lifestyle & Culture
What's the lifestyle like in The Cres?
Lifestyle in the bay can really vary from kin to kin. There are many kin within the tribe that focus on the physical sustainability of the tribe but there is more to life at The Cres than that. Everyone contributes something to the community but the details of what is offered can vary.
Are there are tribe festivals or events?
Yes! There are a number of tribe related festivals that happen! This area will be expanded on as more festivals are created.
Shuppy Races are a common event at The Cres. More TBA.
The Festival of the Moon Fish is a celebration that happens during the Harvest Moon. It happens in autumn and it is a bounty celebration. One Fisherkin is tasked with the special opportunity to catch a fish live, AND bring it back to the Moon Pool for the celebrations. During the Harvest Moon, the fish will take on the colour of the moon from the reflection in the water. This signals the start of the party, and it goes until dawn. The fish is then released back into the bay, and it is said that this will provide good bounty all year round.
The Moon Festival is a monthly celebration on the beach during the full moon. Considered a day of rest, members of the tribe relax how they wish during the day and come out to the beach at night to celebrate with a salamander lit bonfire, dancing and music.

About Shuppies
What are shuppies?
A shuppy is an amphibious shark-puppy hybrid. Shuppies may be amphibious but they definitely prefer having the deep, ocean water to splash around in. The Cres adventurers have discovered that shuppies are capable of swimming in salt, freshwater or brackish water. You won't typically find shuppies anywhere outside of The Crescent Bay (even less so inland) unless they're accompanying their beloved, bonded kin partner. They're fiercely loyal and are considered difficult to tame.
Shuppies are quite intelligent but they are known to have a bit of an attitude. However, once you have tamed and earned their respect, they'll be quite eager to please. It is possible to keep multiple shuppies, or shuppies with other pets and familiars without too much trouble as long as they're bonded with you. They're extremely curious of other animals and will follow them around to an obsessive degree (generally without incident but they may definitely try to eat small pets such as sugar gliders, songbirds and mongooose).

ㅤ
Shuppies will roll around in the sand and then run back into the ocean repeatedly throughout the day for no studied reason. They are frequently found bringing their partner the fish they've caught, eager to help with the hunt. They've also been known to chase birds but with less success in capturing them. It doesn't seem to deter them from chasing them around though. They'll also chase their tail, other shuppies, and most importantly, anything that moves.
Much like their canine counterparts, shuppies love to dig! In fact, they love to dig so much that they dig deep into the sand and straight into the bay. This causes sudden and mysterious holes to appear on the beach. They're deep, filled with water and weren't there earlier. It is particularly useful for digging out small, freshwater wells though!
Obtainment: Shuppy giveaways will occur in Tribe Events, and other shuppy obtainment will occur in the Taming Shuppies section below.
Breedings: Shuppy babies fight, with only the strongest surviving.
ㅤ ㅤ OOC: Breedings produce 1 pup with a 50% chance of a second. Permission for shuppy breedings can be obtained openly if the shuppy babies are given to members of the tribe.Much like their canine counterparts, shuppies love to dig! Taming Shuppies
Shuppies may sometimes be given out during tribe events. If you'd like to get a shuppy custom or CC then permission for obtaining a shuppy familiar can be obtained by tribe members by writing a solo about gaining a shuppy's trust and/or friendship! You can do a standard RP with another tribe member if you'd prefer! How can a shuppy be tamed, and how is one obtained?
