The first thing he noticed was that he was different.

The second thing that he noticed was that he had to look up to see things - and up, and up, and up. The farther back he craned his neck, the more it became apparent that here (wherever here was), Sleepy Time was quite a bit smaller than he was used to. Even back in the swamp he was not, perhaps, the largest zikwa there ever was, but he hadn't been tiny.

He was definitely tiny here. And his legs, no longer the spindly (slightly twiggy, but who was looking) legs of his usual self, but stouter, more stunted things with thick toes that he wiggled several times to get the feel of them. He wasn't used to having toes; it felt strange and somehow exhilarating, even if he couldn't actually see them because his head was much too big.

Sleepy Time scuttled forward, feeling the grass brush against his stomach, cool and a little itchy. He found himself at the edge of a cliff - or maybe it was just a pond, but since he was quite a bit smaller than usual, it certainly felt like a cliff. He peered over the edge and caught sight of luminous, round eyes and an elongated, scaly snout that was kind of like one of the caimans in the swamp that Sleepy Time usually tried to avoid because they were too bitey for his tastes.

"I'm a lizard, Harry" he breathed.

Then he got too excited and accidentally toppled into the pond below. It took him some scrabbling with his newfound claws and a lot of thrashing about but eventually he got to shore again, the sand scraping at his belly and feeling wet and uncomfortable on this strange, unfamiliar skin. Sleepy Time took a small breath and then, with a joyful whoop, zipped off into the grass to explore.
