Under the Rose was starving. After a long day of being very bad at surfing lessons and having to wear floaties, he was delighted to find the buffet. Ignoring all thoughts of "which of these go together" and "how hungry am I really," he started loading up plates. His first round involved baked salmon, barbecue ribs, beef stroganoff, Caesar salad, caprese salad, carved prime rib, chicken Alfredo, chicken tikka masala, creamy risotto, fried calamari, garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, grilled chicken breast, herb-crusted lamb chops, lobster bisque, margherita pizza, mixed green salad, mushroom ravioli, pan-seared scallops, pasta primavera, pulled pork sliders, quinoa salad, roasted brussels sprouts, roasted turkey breast, sautéed green beans, seafood paella, sesame-crusted tuna, shrimp cocktail, smoked brisket, spaghetti Bolognese, steamed clams, sweet potato casserole, teriyaki salmon, vegetable stir-fry, a slice from whole roasted pork, and wild rice pilaf.

But oh, he was not done. That was just savories. Now it was time for dessert. He grabbed pple crumble, banana pudding, Black Forest cake, cheesecake, chocolate mousse, creme brulee, eclairs, key lime pie, lemon bars, a heaping pile of macarons, pecan pie, red velvet cake, tiramisu, vanilla ice cream, tres leches cake. Yes. Tres leches. En esta economia.

He did have to be rolled home, but it was worth it.

Slithering looked over the exensive buffet options. He nodded, knowing he had to try at least one of everything. He got through the 34th item and was sick looking at the rest, admitting defeat.

Grained Melon stared at the food selection. “How many different dishes are there?” he asked. The answer made his eyes widen. "100?" he repeated in a slightly raised voice.

He stared at the displays for a while until his eyes fell on the melons...melons? MELONS! He quickly loaded himself with the delicious fruit and made his way to a free space.

He quickly found himself in front of the counter (again) to find that the melons were empty... well then he tried something else. So it happened that he ate his way through 62 different varieties. He found a lot of good things and also some things that didn't suit his taste, but after the 62 it was enough, he literally burst.
