[B] Second Time's a Charm (Glittering Omen x Bitter Heartbeat)

Glittering Omen was on the lookout for one of these mysterious kin chosen by the MotherFather. She'd never met one before and had heard from some of the other kin who've mothered a clutch that it was something to be done. Having learned she would be having a second clutch, well, she wanted the best for her children and even if she didn't know where to look, she'd always led something of a charmed life.

Bitter Heartbeat had been having a lazy day when he felt the sense of need start to itch beneath his skin. It was a task to pull himself from the destroyed beehive he'd been snacking on but he wasn't about to ignore his duty as a Legendary. With a gummy yawn of honey, he heaved himself up onto all fours and proceeded to walk, then run, in the direction of the pull.

It wasn't a long journey to find the parent-to-be but, when he did, it didn't stop him from letting out a grumble of protest.

Omen gave a startled leap at the sound. She hadn't been expecting that and after a heartbeat she apologized, "Oh. I'm sorry, was I in the way?"

The minibear opened its mouth to reply and then shut it again, thinking better of the situation. Shifting, the minibear began to disappear as the stag solidified. He gave himself a shake to slip off the minibear's renewed interest in the left behind beehive.

"No, no. Just an old man's remembrance that the journeys to find you all ignite a fierce need for food," he chuckled to reassure the doe. Alas, the beehive would likely be devoured before he had a chance to return to it. But that was neither here or there at this point.

"How can I help you?"

Omen's jaw dropped at the sight of a bear turning into a stag but she quickly regained her composure. "Ahem, I would be loathe to continue distracting someone as venerable as yourself. So I shall cut to the chase. I seek your blessing and would like to know what I must do to receive it."

"You need only tell me what it is you want for your children," Bitter Heartbeat explained.

Glittering Omen had a lengthy list of her hopes and dreams for her future children, which she was more than happy to enumerate at length.

The stag listened at length and then, after ensuring that her clutch would be healthy, went on to bless them for the top three most important wishes, he surmised from her vast wants. It was perhaps the quickest blessing he had done, but he could tell the doe was nervous and he'd always tried to soothe such anxieties. He hoped that this would allow her peace.

Assured that she was set, he shifted back into minibear form and sought off to find the nearest stream. He'd worked up an appetite and was bound to try his paw at fishing.
