"I think I would like to have children again."

Tidal Terror swallowed after stating that.

As of late, she had been spending a lot of her time with this visitor, getting along rather well, enough so that her children had started exchanging nervous glances between one another.

Only Making Waves didn't seem to mind, but she was too busy chasing Nobody's Fault around again to really care.

Even Tidal Terror didn't know what came over herself. Her life was plenty busy, between her role at the Sandbar and being a legendary. But she missed having foals around, and it had been...some time since she had a partner.

And this time maybe she could talk about the future to some degree. At least enough to know where everyone stood on the matter of babies. Before she may get too hopeful.

"They would be healthy, blessed by the Motherfather themself. And they would be cute, with little fins, maybe, swimming around..."

For someone usually so confident, Tidal Terror felt rather nervous. With someone with a name like 'Refuses All', who could blame her? As she struggled to find words, she watched his face and body language. She wouldn't die if he said no, but the mood might not recover. And that would be a shame.

His legs were longer but bore the thick fur of his northern heritage and his horns are thin but strong. Having been raised by an impulsive kin so selfish that everything must always be about her, some of that selfishness was bound to trickle down. Unfortunately, this usually resulted in moments like this.

His first reaction to his mate's statement was simple and showed none of the multitudes of thoughts going through his mind.

He should have said more, he'd realize that in a moment. Completed the thought at least; why with me? Why now?

Instead, Refuses All blinked, his nose wrinkled at the thought, and simply said, "Why?"

Oh. "Well, because..." Oh... "Why not?" She struggled to keep her heart from sinking. Part of her, unusually, began to panic at his response. But maybe if she cleared things up, that would make all the difference?

She tilted her head in a playful way. "Foals are adorable, don't you think? The way they toddle about and ram into each other and ask all sorts of interesting questions! Helping them find their place in the world... It's a wonderful journey to go on!"

But also a big ask. Not everyone wanted that; she herself knew plenty how it was to be a single parent.

"I understand, though, if you do not want to rear children yourself. Kin come and go from the Sandbar all the time. I understand that. If nothing else, it could be something to remember our time together by?"
