[B] In Want of A [ Handsome / Shame / Bitter End]

[imgleft]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... uncert.png[/imgleft]Handsome and Shame had wandered quite a way around the Swamp, in and out of the shaded regions and the sunny marshes, and had found themselves enjoying their time along with a transformation flower at some point of time. When her lake monster girlfriend started to show, Handsome started to ask for directions to the legendary Legendaries. She thought it best, in a most practical manner, that she had better do everything within her ability to ensure Shame and her offspring would survive, and perhaps, dare she hope, thrive.

The closest one was a rumoured witch Legendary in a dodgy foggy part of the Swamp, which suited them just as well. The thought of such a Legendary blessing her beautiful feral little doe seemed appropriate. They had said to bring an offering as well, wherein she found a twig of berries and a leg bone with explosive little bone growths, which seemed right. She held these firmly in her mouth as they entered the foggy grove, surrounded by shallow water.

“Lovely place isn’t it, Shame?” She put her goods down to admire the atmospheric landscape.

“Seems like something you’d like.”

Handsome had done quite a good job of cleaning Shame up over the course of their travels. One would be hardpressed to recognise the shambling creature of weed and scum in the neat and elegant doe that she had proven to be - save, perhaps, the few stray sprigs stuck in her hair or tail at all times, because one did not just live as a lake monster for years without lasting consequences. That, and weird manners.

She stopped nibbling on the marsh weeds long enough to say, “Yes.”

The little reply between marsh weed snacking satisfied Handsome. She looked presentable and acceptably awkward, in a cute way. She was certain that they would satisfy the Legendary, and with intent, picked up her offerings again.

Before they could continue on their way, its long snout snapped onto the fluffy tip.

One did not just live as a lake monster for years without lasting consequences.

She - well, to say she screamed would be to vastly underplay the banshee wail that emanated from her like a supernatural force. It was accompanied by a swift and devastating stomp back onto whatever it was that was attacking her tail. And then another stomp, and another stomp. The stomping would not stop until her morale had improved.

[Maxx]

Handsome whipped around, ready to chide Shame for the sudden extreme violence when they were trying to pretend to be normal so close to their destination, but as soon as she saw the caiman, she too joined in the stomping. How very dare! She was pregnant! This caiman had picked the wrong kin to attempt to eat today.

The pregnant one moved far too quickly for being that swollen, and the other one seemed very sturdy. She might have been flailing, trying to get away from the intense stomping. Perhaps it was the Motherfather punishing her for trying to poach her witch girlfriend's blessing.

It was a while before she decided that it might be better to switch out, hoping that her mare body would put more distance between them. As she turned, she pushed away a little desperately, her long scaled tail whipping out indiscriminately.

Handsome was about to stomp again out of instinct, but realised that the transformation and glowing eyes meant that -

"Oh Motherfather," she gasped, dropping her offerings, "oh are you the Legendary?"

She hurriedly kicked the offerings over and put herself in between her feral doe and the mare, hissing "Shame, you can stop now. Stop. Stop."

Her morale had not improved, so she was extremely reluctant to abandon her violent pursuit of this horrid caiman ghost witch.

Nevertheless, she trusted Handsome's judgment to a certain extent, so she stopped, and returned to her side, distinctly sulky.

"Really though," Handsome said, chiding the Legendary for her bad manners - worse than her feral doe! "You oughtn't do such aggressive things to a pregnant doe, what if she fell over? Or worse?"

What kind of Legendary are you?

It hung in the air.

[Maxx]

"She didn't have to react like that," Bitter End returned sullenly, like the bad mare she was, bruised all over, "but it is good to see she is still so spirited, given her pregnancy."

"It means her will to survive is strong, and I can respect that."

[Maxx]

Handsome took this compliment like her own, and puffed in response.

[Maxx]

"Anyway, I'm not the witch Legendary, but I'm just as good," Bitter End insisted, peering at the things she brought.

"I think the babies will be fine, honestly," that doe seemed too vicious for the Motherfather to take her, much less her children, "but is there anything special you want?"

[Maxx]

Handsome lapsed into rare silence, surprised and thoughtful. She looked over at Shame and gently nudged her.

"Anything?"

[Jun]

Still glaring sullenly at the horrid caiman ghost witch Legendary, she said, "Strong."
