[BLESS] Winter Ghostlings (Protagonist x Glossbones)

Protagonist was shocked, a mixture of mild and severe as he worked on accepting the fact that he was to be a father. He knew, of course, how children happened and he'd known that when he engaged with the the pretty doe. That it could happen so . . . it seemed . . .

The buck shook his head, regardless of his wandering thoughts he was going to be a father and Weep a mother. And that meant he needed to find a Legendary for a blessing to ensure their health. Weep was not quite an actual ghost, at least, he assumed not now that she was pregnant. Ghosts, he assumed, could not carry the children of mortals. Regardless if he was right, he needed a Legendary to bless the impending children.

He took careful thought in what to gift one. A still bloom of honeysuckle, a rabbit skull that was said to bring luck, and a fine piece of jade. He hoped that would be pleasing to a Legendary.

Glossbones had a problem. In fact, he had 8 problems and they were all green, furry, yowling, and hopped up on whatever mushrooms they found. Even if he were in his stag form, he was no match for 8 unruly semi intoxicated owlcats so he stayed in his owlcat form. A stern disapproving look graced his face. Unfortunately he counted only seven and looked through where the bushes last rustled for the wayward 8th. Instead he came across a buck deep in thought.

"If I were a Legendary, where would I be?" That was the question running through his mind. Unfortunately, he was not a Legendary and had no idea where to find one.

Eventually he sighed, "Maybe they find me?" he asked no one. It was a moment after the thought had been voiced that he heard rustling and turned to find an owlcat watching him.

"Hello, there," he greeted the avian-feline. "Do you know where any Legendaries are?" he asked, warmly humorous.

"What did I say about talking to strangers?" is how he greeted the owlcat and other kin. He knew the owlcat would not respond and he was right. It proceeded to lick its balls clean.

By this time, he was in his Stag form and regarded the one who had found his wayward cat. He nodded. "Yes, I am a legendary. What can I help you with today?"

Protagonist's mouth dropped open in shock and then quickly slammed shut. He was not going to look a gift-kin in the mouth!

"I'm expecting children and I want them to be adventurous and bold! I want them to be happy and healthy and live good lives," he told the stag and then quickly brought forth his gifts (a still bloom of honeysuckle, a rabbit skull that was said to bring luck, and a fine piece of jade) and laid them at the Legendary's feet.

It's nice to be bribed. He was chuffed. And then he remembered he was in his stag form and smiling inappropriately. Like an owlcat who got the songbird.

"Your clutch will be adventurous, strong, bold, and always finding wayward souls along the way. They will be hale and healthy." He rushed the last bit out before scooping up his bounty, the lost owlcat trailing on his heels excited at the new shinies.

Protagonist shouted out thank yous to the retreating buck before retreating himself, back to his ghostly lover.
