[Bless] Grandkids?? [Nature's Bounty/Pining/Peep]

[imgleft]http://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/image ... uncert.png[/imgleft] She was the most beautiful doe Pining had ever seen and it felt as though he had been courting her forever. He’d written songs about her, recited poetry to the trees and named flowers for her. He was utterly smitten.

Nature’s Bounty, her name was always on his lips.

And he always sought her out, amongst the hustle and bustle of The Mother’s Club (as busy as ever and where he’s spent a lot of his childhood), just to bask in her presence.

Today was no different - or maybe it was a little different.

They’d gotten closer lately.

And someone in particular had noticed.

Not that Pining had realised it yet but as he looked for Bounty, there was a curious glow-eyed foxbun trailing behind.

Pining was slow to catch on to the secondary reason and she felt mean for not telling him - but she wanted his reaction when it dawned on him. Their courting had started as harmless fun - flirtation on her part. But the buck won her over and what started as innocent infatuation bloomed into something more - something much more than either had anticipated, perhaps.

Nature's Bounty caught his eyes as he sought her out and she gave a cheerful smile, a nod in agreement. "Hello!" She eyed the foxbun behind him - recognising her anywhere. "And Peep, too!"

As soon as he saw her, his eyes lit up and his legs lifted higher into merry steps. “Bounty!” He said with delight, quickly followed by an uncertain, “Peep?”

Smaller than both the younger Acha’s but with a large and motherly presence, Peep had a pleased smile on her face as she looked between him and Nature’s Bounty.

“Does he know yet?” She asked, cheeks rosy, not feeling at all guilty for startling him.

Pining could only frown. “Know what?”

The doe couldn't help but laugh at Pining, a full-hearted laugh that lit up her face. She shook her head, still chuckling. "No, he's as slow as ever, of course. The babes could arrive today and he wouldn't realise what was happening until tomorrow, I'm sure of it." There was humour in her voice - she was just teasing, of course. It was a little too soon to expect him to know just by looking at her unless he knew what to look for - though given who his mother is, he probably should know what to look for.

"It's a surprise for both of us."

Just her laugh was enough to lift the frown and brighten his face, even as her words took their time to register exactly what she’d just said. Pining tilted his head one way and then the other, looked at Bounty and then at Peep and back to Bounty.

Babes.

Oh. Oh.

His knees felt a little weak.

Peep gave a merry laugh as Pining knelt down on the grass. “Clearly.” She laughed. “Well, you know you’ll all be well taken care of.” She moved closer to gently nosed her daughter’s cheek. “There will be no worries or pain. I bless them with health and happiness, ready to join a world full of many wonderful surprises.”

“I’m going to be a father?” Pining squeaked.

"Thank you for your blessing. I am overjoyed," the doe couldn't stop smiling as she stepped towards Pining, butting his head gently with her own. "You're going to be a wonderful father." Her eyes locked with his and she gave a playful smirk. "Don't chicken out on me after all this time."

"There's plenty of time to prepare yourself before they arrive - it's early days."
