ASCENDED
Ascended Legendaries can take on the form of a familiar. The details of this form and how it manifests and functions were detailed when first becoming a Legendary kin.
Over time and growth, they can attain new forms to don on their journey through the swamp; these often reflect the appearance of the legendary and are subject to the same varied manifestations of the original familiar form.
SUBVERTED
Subverted Legendaries can take on a shadowy shape; how this manifests and functions was detailed when first becoming a Legendary kin.
Over time and growth, they can accrue shadowy familiars to do their bidding. These are not natural animals of the swamp and can be capricious; sometimes, they will obey their summoner, and sometimes, they will not. The older and more familiar with their powers a legendary becomes, the more likely they are to respect them.
These familiars cannot speak and do not need to sleep or eat. Their summoner can look through their eyes for up to ten minutes daily, but any longer will result in headaches and nausea.

ASCENDED FORM AND REQUIREMENTS
If you're interested in achieving an alternate shape for your already-ascended kin, you must fulfil the following reqs:
- Wait 3 months from ascension for first alt form; 3 months from any other alt form after that.
- Purchase a Legendary Alt Form Token from the shop and have it in your inventory.
- 10 RP points post-ascension; at least one must be a blessing. You can find information about RP points here.
- The kin must either own or have met through RP, the animal in question.
> If you're interested in taking on the form of a non-open pet/familiar, you must have permission from the species creator. - 1 solo RP of 500+ words in which your legendary dreams about taking their new form.
