Huh. Maybe they'd gotten it to take a liking to them...? That was nice. The strange tentacle monsters were kinda fun and squishy in the same way they were.

But there was still a little time left before they had to go home. It would be nice to check out some of the other interesting creatures here, too...

A distinctive barking made them nearly leap right out of their wrinkly skin. Not quite the growling of the wolves earlier, but... what was it? They'd heard of things called 'musk wolves' at another booth, but it had been more crowded, and they weren't too good at... talking to that many people. They liked smells though, right?

Trying to make peace with the animal, they sniffed at the ground a moment before offering it a sprig of mint.

They received absolutely nothing for their mental effort. Oh, well... Maybe if they were already musky, the wolf's own scent was masking the scent of the mint? And it just couldn't smell from that far? Slowly, they found the plant they had grabbed the sprig from and tromped on it a bit with their hoof, grinding it to try to release the scent.
