[PRP] Down by the Lake (Dust and Light)

Post by Hibiscus Mist »

The desert was drab. Sure at times it could oddly sparkle like the sea or twinkle like the stars, but it was still mostly one color only occasionally broken up by the sight of a particularly blue oaisis. That was usually why she wandered the outskirts so often, looking for kin or creatures that might catch her eye. Every now and then she would move her den, mostly a small collection of pretty shells from lakes or beaches, somewhere that would prove more interesting than the last.

That was how she found her hooves splashing into the water of a lake as it washed ashore, giving her a slight chill as she stood in awe of the unusual and rare sight of water and grass and trees. Her tail twitched as she observed some kin further away having their own private moment, letting her turn her head to observe another kin, this one alone, nearer to where she was.

it felt like a good day. but any day was a good day for this dark old acha. His moth was fluttering ahead of him as he hummed an upbeat tune. The ground beneath him was warm and he soaked up the sun on his skin as he moved across the dried earth.

The air felt hot and humid and he wished he had soaked his skin in water before going out hunting for bugs with his companion. To his luck, Light in the Ocean heard the splashing of water nearby. His ears perked forward and his neck arched a bit as he tried to locate where the sound was coming from.

His moth was just a tad bit more intelligent than the average companion and fluttered in a circular o motion as it sought for the acha's attention. Sure enough, Light saw the signal and looked into the distance past his buddy and saw slivers of green and a wide puddle of blue. There was water nearby! and he never knew how thirsty he had become until now.

Swallowing what little spit he had in his mouth, he marched on over towards the lake.

She stared most shamelessly, tail lifting ever so slightly at the deep blue male approaching. He was gorgeous and so different. With a smile she pranced over, tail swishing along behind her as she went. She planned on talking to the male, and if all went well perhaps a little more than talking might happen?

"Hello there! You with the moth! Yes yes, you!" The moth was interesting. Very vibrant and quite fun to watch flit through the sky. Perhaps she needed a rainbow of familiars herself? They would most definitely accent her own semi monochrome palette. She giggled a bit at the thought, looking to the male.

"Do you often come to this lake? I'm new here myself. I do enjoy a good wander through the dunes."

He really wanted to drink something to wet his mouth and throat. the sun was out and there were no clouds to be seen. Picking up his pace into a run, he ran towards the lake and dived into the water. Ahhhh~~ it felt cool to the touch and he paddled around with his front legs as he drank the water. Tail swishing below water, he looked around to make sure his moth was still around and not wet.

Flying in Circles picked a dry spot and sat on a branch high in the tree while watching his kind owner goof around in the water. Why he always dives into the water, the moth had no clue.

Light kept swimming around in the water until he heard a voice speak to him. "I am here" he called out while looking to see where the voice was coming from. It was not until the doe giggled that he had spotted her. "Well, how do you expect me to find you if you just blend in with those big boulders behind you?" he asked, and swam on over to her, still enjoying the coolness of the water before dragging himself out of it and onto the dry land.

He was dripping wet when he came out and shook his entire body to rid of the water. Light started his way on over to the acha with sparkling gold scales. "Hello, you."
