Name Origin: She was a gentle doe, unlike many of her Totoma brethren. She smiled a lot, cheerfully encouraging her friends and family. She was kind and soft and her parents worried she would never earn a name.

But under the shadow of the obelisk, she changed. It filled her with madness and a terrifying need for violence. It consumed her one night, so entirely that she went on a rampage, seeking only to harm. No one was safe. Blood and death was left in her wake.

Atrocity, they called her, for the sins that had been committed.

Name Origin:

He lived alone in a shallow cave near a stream. He wasn’t much for visitors but he occasionally entertained company. Some came to him for advice and he would throw bones to determine what would be next for them. He would give them advice shortly and send them on their way. Some came to play his game. ‘Pick a stone any stone; and I will tell you your fate.’ With all the flash and flair of a stoic Acha.

A stone chosen, he would then ‘read’ it. Often the answer was as simple as yes or no, favorable or unfavorable. Sometimes though there would be a stone that would call for their death…a death that he would give to them. Each one struck down brutally, stomped, butted or maimed and gored beyond recognition. He would leave their bodies in the nearby forest posed facing away from his cave.

As time passed, stories spread about the burly buck that lived in the cave. They spoke of those that had seen two enter and one escape maimed. The other dragged into the woods and left there as an offering to the forest spirits. They had in time come to refer to him in most places as the Death Dealer. --which oddly enough he never knew until he left his cave for a much needed walk and change of pace.

Name Origin: There had been an eagle who had befriended this Totoma when she was young, she was fond of her and yet never considered her a familiar. She was wild and untamed. They were friends and no one was a pet. She would sit with her, or find things to bring her. She told her stories, though she knew they couldn't fully communicate. Things were good.

And then the obelisk shattered and with it shattered the way of life she'd known.

She saw her eagle friend and what had happened to her, and after the contact something changed about her and her strories. Something in her shattered. She was one of the first. The words she spoke were darker and more hopeless, and when even her body changed, with prismatic shards jutting from her flesh, they gave her her name. She was the last days, because they thought that was what she had heralded.
