Name Origin: He was a strange lamb, with wide, knowing eyes. He was difficult to understand, and even as he grew this strange nature stayed. His mother wondered when he would get stronger, when he would join her in fighting and protecting their herd. He felt unknowable to other Totoma, and led by some other destiny he knew waited for him.

In his travels, he came across a small forest of dying trees. The forest called to him, begging for his help. His heart twisted and he knew he couldn't return to his old life. Taking a knee at the largest tree, he whispered a small prayer to the Motherfather and to this forest. "I will be your limbs, I will be your eyes," he said, vowing to take care of it, no matter what it took. He sacrificed himself to this forest, and his family called him Forest Sacrifice for his duties.

Name Origin: It didn't matter how the pet bird had injured its wing -- seemingly too high-up off the ground to be reached. It had gotten stuck so far up the tree-- what mattered was that it was stuck.

The young totoma buck proved his patience, his prowess, and his sense of balance by carefully working his way up gnarled branches, until he could free the fool creature, gently coax it to hold onto him, and then climb his way back down.
