the forest breathes its ancient scent,
where decay and rain combine,
comforting yet sharp in essence.

Nostalgia whispers through the air,
a dreamy embrace of memories intertwined,

A crimson glow on the horizon,
throbbing deep like blood's embrace,
the sun swells outward,
morning light engulfing all in its fiery grasp,
consumes everything to ash

I sprang from the green with a laugh in my throat,
wearing the sun like a dandelion coat.

I sung with the bees,
spinning gold through the trees,
blew seeds to the wind
just to see them spin.

I rose like a riot-
wild, untamed.

Death called, and I followed,
down past the light.
Salt on my tongue,
silence too tight.

I opened my mouth,
but the words wouldn’t stay.
The sea took them gently,
then swept me away.

No body, no anchor,
just salt in the bone.
I am shroud without shape,
and the sea is my home.

and I took my shape.

no escape.

My womb was their tomb,
my cradle: decay.
I rose from the dark,
fattened on pain.

No heartbeat, no mercy,
no memory left.
Only the echo
of someone else’s death.

Their grief made my sinew,
their rage built my frame.
They died in the water-
and left me my name.

Carved from stillness,
composed like a vow.
Each breath with intention,
unmoving, unshaken.
