[B] I Will Take Responsibility (Fault of the Father x )

Post by doomsayer »

Fault of the Father always had hang-ups involving the possibility of having his own children--what with the nonchalant attitude that his mother had to coupling with any buck that would take her fancy and the fact that she never spoke of his own father who had plagued his dreams since his childhood. But a chance encounter with the most interesting doe he had ever met now puts him in a situation where he might become something he has feared all his life--a father.

Hundreds of thoughts raced through his mind as he wandered out hunting today. What does it take to be a good father? Is his presence in the lives of his children enough? What is it that he should give them? How should he treat them? What should he expect from them? How will he feel when they are here? It was all too much. Even more questions pop up just as he tries to think of how to answer the one prior.

He wanted to speak to someone about it--seek advice from someone who had a normal upbringing or some extraordinary wisdom. His mother never really liked talking about the ascended, but he had heard from other kin enough to know that these special kin would help those who had these question like him.

So he made the decision to seek on out and ask his questions and maybe, just maybe, they could give him some clarity and his future children something that would make their lives better than his own.

[B] I Will Take Responsibility (Fault of the Father x )

Post by Gl!tch~ »

Her children were growing. It felt too fast, yet at the same time, like they would be little things forever.

It left Tidal Terror in a difficult position when she knew she had to leave them and give a blessing.

This time, she had someone there at her side so she would not have to worry about placing the burden on her tribe mates. She could also task her elder sons with looking after their younger siblings, but she felt like it was important to have bonding time with their father. Big Splash could teach them all how to swim when they needed to burn some energy, anyway.

So she left her home on the beach and struck out through the swamp to find the root of the tugging feeling she was oh-so-familiar with. Hopefully her youngest children would not grow up too much without her in her absence.

After informing Feeling Fancy and his siblings about his plans, he gathered some food to bring along for the trip and set out on a journey. He figured he would have to travel somewhat out of his usual environs and his comfort zone to find one of the ascended--since he's never seen one wandering around where he and his siblings lived.

He set out for the edge of the swamp, occasionally talking to other kin he would meet along the way to befriend them and ask if they've seen one of the ascended nearby. Though some kin that he met say that they've seen and even gotten to talk to an ascended before, they all say that it's less about seeking one out than carrying a genuine desire to meet one so that they can find you.

The concept was novel to him and made him rethink his goal of leaving the swamp for the kin territories further out. His mom was desert born, so he initially thought that maybe visiting his roots could warrant him a meeting. But armed with this new knowledge, he walked around the edge of the swamp thinking hard on what he really wanted to talk about with the ascended, hoping that his fervent thought would be enough to attract the attention of the kind of kin he was seeking out.

"Think! Think! Think!"
