There was something extremely self-possessed about the next man who stepped up onto the stage, a sense of confidence in the way he moved without hesitation. There was no concern as to whether anyone would enjoy his talent or whether he could perform, he already knew. He knew he was better than any one of the other people who’d bothered to show up and that showed in how he squared his shoulders and took his place before the crowd.

Dressed in a green vest and slack dark pants, a hand carved bow was held lovingly in one hand. The other hand was idly holding, with only one crooked finger, the strap of a quiver that held five arrows.

There was a moment of stillness as his eyes roamed the watching crowd, picking on his targets. Then he whipped up the bow, and in a smooth, beautiful motion, had an arrow nocked and the string pulled back within seconds.

The first arrow flew.

It unerringly found the center of a target he’d set up earlier.

The second arrow flew.

It speared through someone’s hat.

The third arrow flew.

It pierced an apple thrown by someone he’d bullied into helping earlier.

The fourth arrow flew up and was followed swiftly by the fifth, which knocked the fourth in an arch straight into the first where it sat in the bullseye. The first was splintered straight down the middle.

Then Hunter gave a crisp bow and marched off the stage.

See, the problem was that most of the things Beau could do that he'd consider talents were not things that he could really do on a stage. He was a great swimmer, and he was good at fishing and identifying plants for food or for medicinal purposes.

It took him a long time to settle on something. Long enough to have lingered in the audience to see amuriel with her glasses. That had been a good talent, very creative. maybe something like that?

When he did hit the stage he'd have a length of rope with him, and his usual wide and toothy grin. "I'm gonna show you folks a few handy knots," he presented, holding the rope up and trying not to feel overly silly about the whole thing.

When he set into the thing and explaining he fell into a familiar groove, like he was teaching a lesson to some of his more curious children.

When he finished he flashed another grin and dipped his head before striding off the stage. Glad it was over.

Charity had decided she was going to sign up for this beach talent show. She hadn't put too much thought into her talent was going to be but she did have one thing she was good at. Well a few things. Charity was a woman of many gifts, and wine drinking was one of them. She walked out towards the center of the stage and she smiled. Her talent for them wasn't going to be anything miraculous. "I have a unique gift. You see, I am going to drink this whole bottle of wine." She pulled out a nice bottle of pinot noir and drank it straight from the bottle.

She continued to drink it and didn't stop until the bottle was empty and then she put it down and took a bow before the crowd. Now, she wouldn't say she was a lush by any means, but she did like to enjoy some good wine. "Oh, I also own a wine bar down the road. Free wine for anyone who entered into the talent show!" She also had other things on hand there, but wine was the main product. Giving one last bow she exited the stage and headed back to check on her store.

Amber had been doing this for a long while but it wasn't something that she openly shared with others. She had always been nervous about doing stuff like that, so when she was standing up on that stage, ready to play her music with everyone she found herself almost frozen. Taking in a deep breath she counted to 10 and then looked out at the crowd. "Hello. My name is Amber and this is my talent."

She began to play the Dance of the Sugar Plum Faries by Tchaikovsky. As she continued to play she began to relax and get into the grove. It wasn't long before she was smiling as she was playing and humming along to the melody of the glass harp. Before she knew it the song was over and the last of the notes was fading into the distance. Looking up she realized that she was still on the stage and not where her mind had transported her. Either way, she had gotten through her little bout of stage fright and had done her first public performance. Giving a wave she carted her table away, cleaned up and then went to go get changed. She wanted to go enjoy the beach.

Talent: Stand-up comedy
RP of Talent: Kate had no problems marching up to the stage, accompanied by the sound of her flipflops, and immediately commanding everyone's attention: it wasn't hard when you were a six foot tall blonde and when you liked to dress as she did. She was wearing a brilliantly coral-pink halter top and a sarong tied over the matching bottom, with a broad-brimmed hat perched on top of her platinum waves. Her grin was broad and warm and without much further ado, she simply launched into her routine.

"I want to tell a joke about the beach," she started, "but I'm not shore if it's funny." When she was met with groans, her grin got bigger. "You know, those who live near the water have to keep up with current events, and it's shellfish to keep it all to oneself. So I guess I shouldn't keep clammed up about it, you know?" She shrugged, and then tipped her head with a bit of a saucy wink. "The local gossip is pretty deep. It seems like the local fish are being caught up in a scheme which is making them lose all of their money -- they've had to visit the loan sharks."

She paused, and then the smile faded -- before she quickly plastered it back on. "You'll have to excuse my resting beach face..."

Talent: Whipping
RP of Talent: Ax waited his turn patiently and, once he was called up, stepped onto the stage with a little wave to the crowd. He had with him whips of various sizes and he set them down toward the front of the stage so the audience could see them. He selected one - a bullwhip with a fairly standard length of eight feet - and uncurled it as he moved to stand in the exact middle of the performance space.

"Friends," he said, finally putting a smile on his face as he opened his arms in a wide stance as he faced the audience. "It is my pleasure to show you my skills today. This talent has been passed down to me through many generations. Please, sit back and enjoy."

Before he began Ax set up a few different targets, each holding a different bundle of small sticks that were taped together. He cracked his whip at all of them, striking the sticks perfectly so they snapped, leaving just the bit he'd wedged into the target behind. He also lit a match in a similar fashion, careful not to snap the delicate wood as he'd just demonstrated, instead just scraping the very tip of the whip over the flammable material on the end. He ended with his grand finale, holding more of the thin sticks in his own mouth and cracking his whip directly in front of his face, leaving a small bit of wood between his teeth and his face unscathed.

He bowed before the audience before taking up all the whips he'd brought out, stepping off to let the next presenter have their space.
