RP of Talent: Talulah was shaking, sweat glistening her brow and her bottom lip held hostage between her teeth - this was always the case before she stepped on the stage. Finally, her name was called and as soon as she stepped on stage a calm came over her and the performer took over. Music thumped and she started with a handspring to take her to the center of the mat, landing with her hands pointed to the ceiling. She performed three flips in quick succession - first to the front, then to the back, taking her exactly to the center of the mat again. From side stage, a ball was thrown and she caught it, holding it with one hand, she balanced on the other and placed the ball on the sole of her foot before she pointed it to the ceiling, standing on her hands and balancing the ball. She walked forward, kicking the ball from one foot to the other.

Talulah tumbled forward, almost as if she lost balance but she landed gracefully on her back and caught the ball again with her legs outstretched. She kicked it a few times, letting it get higher and higher until it was high enough that she could flip herself off the mat and land balancing on the ball with a bow.

He stood onstage in a nightdress that looked as though it had been acquired from somewhere the previous century, a gold tasseled hat that resembled a cone, and a pair of slippers that, while fluffy and white, didn't really resemble bunnies so much as they resembled a pile of dust from beneath a cabinet that hadn't been swept in a long time. His short white hair was messy, and his eyes - normally a large, luminous blue the color of the ocean (or whatever shade it was) - were currently closed, pale lashes sweeping across his cheekbones.

He was, in fact, asleep, and had been for several moments now. It wasn't the light, easy dozing of someone who had been idling their day away and was bored of it, but the heavy, drowsing slumber of a man who had run for hours, or perhaps had spent the better part of the week doing nothing but heavy lifting. Somnus was snoring, very lightly, a little bit of a hiccuping sound that was on the whole rather endearing, and he was still standing straight, though his shoulders were slumped.

Another few moments passed. Then, quite suddenly, his eyes snapped open; Somnus gave himself a little shake, wiggling his arms, and then spread them out to either side of himself.

"There you go," he said brightly, his voice a low tenor, still slightly tinged with drowsiness. "As you can see, I can close my eyes and go to bed wherever necessary, whenever necessary, without any kind of preparation or whatnot. Just - " He snapped his fingers. " - like that!"

Somnus beamed. Then he slouched off stage and went to find a good place to close his eyes.

Brandon shook his limbs out before charging onto the stage, whipping his arms up and down to try and excite the crowd. In his hands, eye catching and glinting, were several sharp knives, catching the sunset and glinting ominously. The thudding guitar riff of Black Sabbath thudded through the sand as he took his stands and began, slowly at first, then faster and faster, juggling the knives. They flicked up and down and he caught them deftly by the handle, hips bouncing in time to the song.

He would pause, catching all three, then throw one extra hard and extra high, waiting for the last second before snatching it from the air, and he was rewarded with a satisfying gasp from the crowd, obviously drawn in by the sense of danger. He upped the tension, adding spins and swirls as he span both the blades and himself, never faltering and always catching them. As the song reached its climax, his finishing move, always the most impressive.

He span a knife right above his head, and with practised precision, caught the handle with a jerk of his head- right between his teeth. He grinned around it, holding the others out to his side as he bowed and soaked up the applause. He loved doing this.

Rina was lucky she’d driven straight to the beach with her sari and drum still in her boot. Or maybe not so lucky based on that damn form, but- she loved to play. And she loved to play loud.

Her sari was blue with gold accents, appropriately enough, a deep vivid turquoise, almost too bright, and it glittered with intricate embroidery and mirrors sewed into it. She stepped on stage and did a little twirl, holding her drum in front of her before her mix began to play over the speakers.

The drum’s beats were incredibly powerful and loud, slamming into listeners ears and adding a frenetic, addictive beat over the pop songs that refused to be ignored. She could see the audience’s heads start to bob in time to the rapid striking of the teeli, and she her own knees bent in time with the deep base notes that thudded from the other side of the dhol.

The finale of her set was the Barbie girl remix, overlaid with dhol music. She was confident she’d left the crowd wanting more as she danced from the stage, sticks held high in triumph. There was nothing like the dhol drum - it demanded attention, and insisted on being moved to. She was nodding all the way back to the car.

Adena moved into position, her arms gripped tight around her Pahu, not taking a chance at dropping her precious instrument. Once it was settled, she closed her eyes for a moment, taking several slow, deep breaths. Her hair had been pulled back in several thick braids, tied into a bundle to keep them out of the way. She wore a simple black tank, and a wrap skirt of deep blue, and no shoes. She knelt behind the drum, and carefully braced herself as her eyes opened again.

Her hands came down, open palm, fingers spread, and began to beat the drum, starting with a basic, simple beat... Similar to a heartbeat... And then she began to speed up, changing the pattern to something more complex. It was the kind of beat that got under the skin, made people want to move. It felt frenetic, almost alive in and of itself, and there was something of heat in it, something that spoke of fire perhaps.

As the beat built itself up, further and further, her head fell back, getting lost in the music she was making. Her body swayed a little, not so much as to interfere but enough to show that it affected her as well. The beat moved into the most frenetic crescendo, before she hit three sharp beats, and fell still. She gave a half bow to everyone, stood and carried her drum off to the side again, a small smile on her face.

Larkspur stepped up in front of everyone and shuffled her feet a little. Being in front of people was NOT an easy thing for her. She'd much rather be out and about in nature on her own. Still, she took a deep breath and turned to the tree she was standing by and waved her hand at it with a flourish. "My act is how to climb a tree properly. So let me demonstrate to you all!" she walked over to the tree and walked around it a moment looking at it from all angles before she was giving a little bit of a hop and grabbing onto a tree branch and using the balls of her feet for traction and her hands and arms for leverage began to pull herself up into the tree.

Of course, she demonstrated this from the backside of the tree, and not where anyone could actually see what she was doing. Which she didn't realize until she was up in the tree and scooting herself along a branch to face everyone. "And that is how you properly climb a tree! What do you mean you couldn't see me? I showed you perfectly fine. You should have been paying better attention! No I'm not doing it again...!"
