Tucked away amidst the chaos of the Winter Market there is a small cove. A natural rock formation protects it from the noises and business of other booths, the crystal clear water pools in from the ocean in a near perfect circle, and at the back the wall opens up into another smaller pocket of beach. Palms hang over the edges of the rock wall, providing shade, and there is lush greenery everywhere. Overhead birds of all types settle amongst the trees and blanket the area in song- Their backbeat is the lapping of the waves.
In the very center of the pool of water is a large rocky outcropping. It's at least 20 totoma high, if you had to guess, and twice as big around.
At the entrance Story is firmly planting a sign that no kin could have made. On it are strange symbols that you know you shouldn't be able to understand, and yet it reads:
First to the Top: A mountain climbing game
He turns as you approach and opens his mouth to greet you when he's interrupted by a pair of kimeti. The doe bounds her way over and rudely, but gently, pushes you to the side-
"Story, dear! Friend! Pal! This looks beautiful!"
You watch in amazement as the pair move effortlessly from complimenting the large tree-ridden buck's hard work to convincing him that surely he must be tired after all that effort. They convince him to take a break, let them take over the game while he enjoys the winter market for once, and not to worry. They've got this.
Before you(or Story) really understand what's happening he's heading off down the beach, you're being ushered into the cove, and the doe has perched herself on the rock formation next to the sign.
"Listen up! Story needed a break, so he's gone off to do ... Whatever it is he does. You're all very lucky my mate and I were here to pick up the slack!"
The buck interjects with a soft quip: "Say thank you."
"Anyway, now that tree daddy is gone... I'm Still Life. This is Six:
Let's play pirates!"

Tucked away past the hustle and bustle of kin drinking grog(whatever that is), fighting each other to get to the top of a giant rock, and generally being rowdy there is a smaller cove. It would be easy to miss except as you get near the opening you can feel the crackle of magic.
There's something back there worth checking out, maybe.
Once you've cleared the short rock tunnel that makes up the entrance you know things have changed- You're human, for one. And very fully a pirate. People you know to be your hosts, known here as Nikki and Michael, are lounging in the sand and idly chatting about the creatures that are causing their own kind of chaos on the beach.
OPOSSUMS!
They're everywhere! They're so cute, but they are definitely causing Problems(tm). They're harassing the local birds, fighting over crab and fish bits, getting into the garbage, and just dropping into a state of thanatosis the instant you even look at one funny.
Nikki brushes her hair out of her face and smiles pleasantly at you, though you notice it doesn't quite make it into her eyes.
"If you can convince one to go home with you I've got a bunch of pet safe paint you can use to make it distinguishable as yours. Like, opossum safe makeup. They make excellent parrot substitutes. I'll show you."
She holds out her arm to a very chunky looking little guy and it climbs up onto her arm and perches on her shoulder.
"Cool, huh?"
Tell me how your kin, now a human pirate, has wooed an opossum!
Write a story about how your character won over the opossum and what markings they gave it. Roll 2d20 and edit your post to include the numbers you rolled. I will then make you your very own opossum like the one above!
The dice determine what color paints get used, but I'm not going to tell you what number matches to what.
I will also be taking artistic liberties with the markings you describe.
Copy and paste the form below into a new post.
Write a 100 word or more story about luring and painting an opossum.
Make sure to describe the markings your character gives their new pet!
