In the dreaming, empty. Tall trees with long fingered boughs that reached, reached but never touched. Quiet so profound that the foal's ears rang... Nothing, nothing at all. Endless wandering, silent- until he heard something. Something that clawed up into a hiccuping whimper, and then it echoed, it echoed down to his very bones.
