[B] Becoming More (Misted Lake x Fierce Warrior)

Post by Illusei »

Misted Lake felt herself getting restless. She knew that soon it would not just be herself that she would be responsible for. It was a strange thing to bring new life into the world, and yet she welcomed it.

In anticipation, she had made a long journey to a rather curious forest to make an offering to a Legendary. She had been told that they could bless her young to be healthy and plentiful and also with especially insightful naming dreams. Misted Lake hoped for all her children to grow well and go far. And she wondered whether a Legendary might be able to tell her what the future holds for her and her young.

She had been here before, in this forest that stood between worlds and time itself. It was just as she remembered it, though she had no idea where in the forest she was or if she'd been in this particular spot before. If she listened closely, she thought she could hear faint sounds from the worlds beyond.

Though the forest was still, it was an exciting place for Misted Lake. She's lived many lives in these worlds, many journeys that have taught her much about the world. She had chosen to return to the Swamp - or perhaps she hadn't at all, but could make no other choice - but they echo within her. She hoped that her young will also have a long and fruitful journey.

She knew there was nothing left to do but to wait, so she sat down under a tree, half dozing though her ears remained alert. She brought with her a woven basket of the freshest and most succulent foods she'd gathered along her journey - elderflower and cattails, hawthorn and blueberries, even mushrooms of many kinds.

[B] Becoming More (Misted Lake x ???)

Post by rexcorvus »

He had been to the forest many times by now, wandering in and out of the trees, winding his way across the mossy grass with a familiarity that still caught him by surprise sometimes. Occasionally he was joined by a member of his family, or his hoard of creatures that tended to be more of a nuisance than anything else, the shuppies all clambering over one another in attempt to be the most annoying.

Today, however, Fierce Warrior was alone, with only Sharp Eyes to accompany him. The wolf had trotted a few steps ahead, paws silent on the dirt, but now she stopped and looked back at him, her head cocked a little to the side, gaze intent on a kimeti doe a short distance away. It was from her that Fierce had felt the nagging indication that he was needed, and he crossed to her, tail slinking through the grass with a soft hiss.

"Good evening," he said, offering her a smile. "Are you well?"

Misted Lake lifted her head at the sound of a soft voice. She was quite alert, but had not heard him approaching at all. Before her stood a majestic creature accompanied by a wolf that stood protectively next to its owner. A Legendary, she understood instinctively.

She got up and bowed her head in respect. "Better now that you are here," she said, putting on her best charm. "I was hoping to cross path with a wise one like yourself in this forest." She grasped her basket with her mouth and placed it near him.

"I am with children and I have been told you have great power to bless them. I have only these earthly things to offer you but I hope they will be to your taste."

Unable to resist, she added, "And perhaps if you don't mind, I'm curious to know what worlds you come from and what you see in the future of my children."
