[AU Solo] Feathers and Fur

Post by Aria Starstone »

Spoiler
1. This is where the ponies and the warrior cats go. You know who your are... In all seriousness, there's room for all kinds of non-human escapades in this genre. it's up to you what animals you'll be, how those animals interact with the world around them, whether humans even exist in that world or not. You can be anything from house pets to an advanced civilization that can hold things in your hooves because magic, who cares.
2. Oh no! Someone/thing is missing and/or dead! How'd that happen?? Also, does Bigfoot exist? It's up to you to find out - or not!
3. There has been a critical miscommunication, and now one of you thinks the other is repulsive/untrustworthy/weird/dangerous.
4. Secretly, one of you has come back from the future to change something that happened in the past. You have to try not to let the other person know, because changing the past is really, really tricky, and if you don't do a clean job, the consequences will be far-reaching and unexpected!
Peacock lounged, her long, regal body settled on the beautiful pillow her pet human had bought for her. It was set in the window, so she could watch the world pass at her leisure, while the Human went out and did their work-thing, whatever that meant, and returned to adore and feed her. She blinked slowly, eyes closing... Falling asleep as she often did, for hours, while the Human was gone.

When she woke, it was dark out, and the Human had not returned, which was odd. She was always home by now, but she had not yet arrived. Peacock sat up, almost concerned... If nothing else, it was almost dinner time, and the last thing Peacock wanted was dinner to be late.

She was about to jump down to go sniff around the door when she heard an unexpected sound... The sound of paws on HER floor, in HER home. Paws that were not hers. Her back arched, and a hiss escaped her lips as she jumped down to go see who had dared to enter her space. She entered the hall, and saw a grey stranger, a bird!... fluttering in her hall, A pigeon had somehow gotten in. She hissed again, and yowled out "How dare you enter my home? This is my space, and the human is MY pet! You are just a snack waiting to happen. Are you why she is late?"

Eagle Song was trying to find a space he could land, a safe place but within range that he could communicate with the cat below. He had a job to do... He had been sent back in time to prevent her from escaping to find her human. The snowball effect that event would create would cause so much disaster! Her human would be devastated when Peacock could not be found, and would go mad, eventually taking over the world. If Peacock could be kept from leaving, everything would be fine. But first he had to convince her to listen to him, without giving anything away.

"Croooo, no, no! I came to help, to try to help you find out why she is late! I am..." He paused, panicking internally as he tried to figure out how to convince her to trust him, as to why he knew and was here. After a moment he came out with "A seer! I SAW that your Human would not be home on time, though the vision was hazy, and I wanted to help you find out why. It showed me that the clue would be here, somewhere, in the house!" He managed to settle on a shelf that he hoped was out of the cat's range, and waited to see what would happen.

Peacock glowered up at the bird, her natural suspicion of all strangers in her home and even more natural suspicion of all things pigeon fighting with her curiosity and her concern for her Pet. Finally, in a slow, hissing voice, she said "Fine. I'll give you the chance, but know that I do not trust you, pigeon. Prove yourself. Let's hunt."

The bird hid an internal sigh of relief, and nodded upstairs. "I believe we should start up there, in the human's bedroom... Perhaps something there will give us the clue we need!" He took off, winging upstairs to the bedroom, with the cat running up after him. He tried to go slower, knowing she could not keep up, but it was hard to do that while flying. Still, they made it to the top and he took a moment to orient himself... Then flew towards the door he noted the cat turning towards. As they entered, the Loud Thing on the side table began to make the horrible sound it made... BRIIIIIIIIING BRIIIIIIING. After 6 of those sounds, which had Peacock hissing, her tail swishing at the horrible sound, the Talking Box began to play the sound of her Pet Human's voice, the way it did. She heard the sound of That Man that annoyed the Pet whenever he called.

"Lydia, it's Jim. I know you left so late tonight, and are probably not home yet, but I just got word that you'll need to come in tomorrow despite that... The CEO is insisting we get this project finished by Monday. Call me when you get this. Bye!"

Peacock frowned, only recognizing some of those weird human sounds. Lydia... That was her Pet human. Jim was That Man. Home was home, and... She knew some of those words meant her Pet having to go to the work-thing when she was NOT supposed to. Peacock hissed loudly and jumped up onto the table, slapping the Talking Box so hard it fell off the table. She was about to demand the Damn Pigeon help her figure out where the clue was, but she heard the front door opening, and the sound of her Pet calling her name. She paused, glanced at the Pigeon... And was confused to find him not there. She paused, trying to find him... But soon, she put it out of her head as she ran down the stairs to greet the Pet, yowling her displeasure at dinner being late.
