[B] get out of the house for a while

Post by Tiarana »

Chrysanthemum Ashes paced around the swamp, unusually on edge for the smooth and confident acha, peering into dark hollows (but not too dark, she wasn't in any mood for the Weird that had settled over the swamp in recent times) and squinting up trees.

"Ugh, would you calm down? Go find one of those glowing guys and get one of their blessings," Jasmine Smoke had said, in a way that sounded more like an order than a suggestion. Ok, maybe Ash had been a little too fussy with the other doe. Maybe Ash shouldn't have insisted that Smoke stop dancing, her favorite thing to do. And maybe Ash shouldn't have wrapped her in crude bark blankets with the salamander underneath, which just made Smoke way too hot. And maybe when Ash tried to feed Smoke "health supplements" she got from some old hedge witch, and they allegedly tasted like "stale farts and rancid meat", she shouldn't have withheld dinner until Smoke choked them down. Maybe. But still. She was only trying to look out for the doe and her babies - their babies. She smiled to herself. No third parties involved this time.

Ash was still not sure how she felt about legendary kin. She knew more than she did after her first encounter many years ago (including that maybe you shouldn't threaten them), but what she had seen on the expedition to restore the sun had raised questions in her mind that she was still pondering. Still, it wouldn't hurt, and it was what Smoke wanted, and maybe, just saying maybe, ok, she should give the other doe some space. So off she went to find one of those glowing guys.

[B] get out of the house for a while

Post by anemosagkelos »

Bitter Heartbeat stretched, a wide yawn splitting his maw into two. A horror of teeth winked, but he was not really a predator. All the naps he had found himself taking was all the proof one needed for that, and no one could blame him when the sky had gone into a seizure and left the both the sun and moon confused. Not that he was exactly complaining, who could really argue with naps, after all?

He should move, however, he thought and he began to plod off into the direction of his beloved. It had been some time since he had visited her. One paw in the air, he paused; there was that familiar itch. His head turned, it would be in the opposite direction. He sighed and took one last look towards his desired path; it would have to wait. The minibear turned and walked towards the kin who was expecting children.

Chrysanthemum Ashes nearly pounced on the minibear when she spotted his glowing eyes, but she held herself back and sidled up to him more calmly. "Hallo, oh great legendary," she said in a way that didn't not sound like she was inwardly cringing. She paused, looking down at the teeth and flowers. "That is what you are, right? I'm not just talking to a bear?"

"There'd be nothing wrong with talking with a minibear, my dear," Bitter Heartbeat smiled. "But, in this case, yes, this minibear happens to be a Legendary. An even better reason to take a leap and talk to the creatures you encounter, I'd say." He remembered being in the position of seeking a Legendary kin; the uncertainty, the terror, the hope. It was a strange place to be.

"You needn't be so formal, though. I am still a kin like yourself."
