LOOK WHAT I MADE!
Kin Name: Rotten Liar
Preference List: Jerboa
Items Rolled: Seaweed, Crushed up seashells, Red sand, Two halves of a coconut shell, Beetle shells
RP of Building Disguise:
Rotten Liar found themselves with a pile of items and a task to create a disguise. They were not certain the disguise would work but they did think they could make a better disguise than anyone else. Using two coconut shells and the sticky ooze to create the base, Rotten Liar created a hat first. Secured on the head with the seaweed and then the coconut was covered with ooze to secure the red sand and beetle shells.

LOOK WHAT I MADE!
Kin Name: Rotten Liar
Preference List: Jerboa
Items Rolled: Pearls, Crushed up seashells, Coral, Ball of hair, Lucky chicken foot
RP of Building Disguise:
Was one disguise good enough? They looked at their first creation and then decided another was due. Using the driftwood and clay as a base, Rotten Liar used the coral they had gather to create a sort of cover for the driftwood. The sticky ooze and the crushed seashells would cover the wood completely and make it look like one large coral piece. It would be worn on the back and over the head to make a hiding place sort of.

LOOK WHAT I MADE!
Kin Name: Consume
Preference List: purple, teal, pink, cyan, jerboa
Items Rolled: Ball of hair, two halves of a coconut shell, pearls, intact skeleton, tuft of pink fur
RP of Building Disguise: Consume looked over his motley array of materials in the shifting light of the motes that flitted around them. He thought it over, then methodically set about attaching items. The sap and the slime served to stick hair and fur to his back, dotted with pearls. Vines twisted carefully around bones went around his shoulders. The spiderweb stretched across his face, with a little finangling (the egg sac was a nice little snack, if sticky). Berries and clay streaked camouflaging color across his sides. When he was finished, he looked rather outlandish, a swamp monster, but the materials had broken up his silhouette and features; he thought that effect might help him sneak up on the motes.

LOOK WHAT I MADE!
Kin Name: Eats Flowers
Preference List: purple, teal, pink, cyan, jerboa
Items Rolled: sparkly stones, beetle shells, red sand, pearls, four-leaf clover
RP of Building Disguise: Eats Flowers wasn't sure he wanted some of this stuff on him, but he'd agreed to help with this, and who was he to say a disguise wouldn't help? Maybe if he looked like he was covered with motes already, they wouldn't fly away from him so quickly. With that goal in mind, he got slime into his fur, then delicately placed sparkling stones and beetle shells into it. They stuck. He shuddered slightly, already regretting it a little; cleaning himself was going to be awful.
Still, he'd gotten started already. He might as well finish. He nudged pearls into the spiderweb and dragged it across sand to stick some of the red grains to the web, then picked up the resulting mass with his teeth and dragged it onto his chest fur. He pressed his face into the clay, letting it stick to his fur like a mask, and streaked berry juice across his legs for good measure. He craned his neck to look at himself and grimaced, not entirely pleased, but reasonably satisfied with the disguise; the materials he'd used shone slightly in the glow of the motes, and he'd mostly achieved the effect he'd been trying for.

LOOK WHAT I MADE!
Kin Name: Thunder Far Away
Preference List: purple, teal, pink, cyan, jerboa
Items Rolled: moss, two halves of a coconut shell, intact skeleton, beetle shells, variegated banana leaves
RP of Building Disguise: Thunder Far Away didn't have any particular effect in mind when he started his disguise, except the thought that he should cover up the glow of his markings. He settled leaves and moss and sticks onto his back, then looked at what he'd begun and had an idea. Perhaps if he looked like a section of ground, the motes would not think he was a danger. He trailed vines across the moss and leaves, and carefully picked up bones from the little skeleton to artfully scatter them around. The spiderweb he spread across two sticks, and the coconut parts were pressed into the moss like rocks.
He was still glowing, he noted; he smeared clay and berry juice across his markings to mute their glow. That would do, he hoped. He couldn't help the glow in his eyes, but perhaps they would be mistaken for motes ... ?

LOOK WHAT I MADE!
Kin Name: Shadowed Moon
Preference List: purple, pink, teal, cyan, jerboa
Items Rolled: coral, sparkly stones, glowing mushrooms, wildcard: red sand, wildcard: seaweed
RP of Building Disguise:
Ah. Well. The buck looked at the pile of objects in front of him, pondering the request he had received. He'd never been particularly good and creating things himself, though truthfully he'd never really tried. Of course Beneath the Surface stayed at their Resting Place with the others... he would have been perfect at this. Sighing again the buck eyed his pile of materials and tried to imagine what the other kin might create from it, with little luck. He wasn't exactly going to give-up, anything he could do to help return the moon (and sun) was something he was willing to try, but this wasn't exactly enough time to learn a whole new skill. Looking back at the small pile before him Shadowed Moon took a moment to glance over each item, hoping to maybe get some idea of what to do. A mixture of items hailing from the forest, beach and caves lay before him, many glowing and sparkling in the light. Watching the colors align of his own fur, leaving his blue-white coat itself sparkling the buck pondered. The motes did seem to be drawn to light, and anything unusual...
The buck began to spread the red sand across the ground, creating a small sandy area, and laid out the driftwood and seaweed across the ground, semi-haphazardly, trying to create the appearance of a low-time beach (as well as he remembered). Then, he spread out the slime along one of the edges of the sand, hoping to mimic the water, and placed the coral amongst it. It was messy, but better than nothing. Glancing at the rest of his materials the buck gathered up the clay and used his head and hooves to make a rough center, stretching it out to mimic a small cave-opening, though it was rather lopsided, with a strangely angled opening due to his horns gouging out the side of the 'hole' he'd tried to make. The buck looked over his work and shook his head, at least he hadn't accidentally broken through the back... he sighed lightly and looked over the rest of the materials, forcing himself to recall the details of the dark caves he'd wandered through, much as he wasn't eager to relive those quite yet.
Grabbing some of the sparkling stones he began to push them into the clay on the inside of the 'cave' he had created, attempting to create the handing stones he'd seen in his own time in the caves, though mostly just twisted the structure more, and popped a few all the way through on accident, leaving both sides exposed. Maybe he should ask Beneath the Surface to teach him a thing or two. Setting the 'cave' down for now, the buck used some of the sticky sap to begin lining up the mushrooms as though they sprouted from the ground itself near the edge of his 'beach'. It worked... well enough, though some had fallen into each other. The buck slid the 'cave' over the top of them, leaving the mushrooms reflecting off the sparkling stones, causing the inside of the clay to light up with a myriad of colors. At least it looked interesting? The light also seemed to sparkle off the slime a bit, which was an unintended side-effect.
He quickly laid out the vines, berries and spider webs along the side and top of the cave, partially to actually use everyone and partially to hide the stones sticking through the top and stepped back to look at his creation. It... sort of looked like a cave by a beach? Maybe? The buck sighed. Hopefully the other kin would find some use for it, or maybe someone else would come up with an actually usable idea from his attempt? Either way, he'd done what he could for now. Glancing around the buck headed over to let the Helper know he'd finished, such as it was. Hopefully he wouldn't be chastised for wasting materials, though honestly he'd probably agree if it came to that. He was honestly even more impressed with the creatively minded after that fiasco, he was going to tell Beneath the Surface as much when get got home.

LOOK WHAT I MADE!
Kin Name: Enchantress
Preference List: In order, with any you're not interested in taking home excluded.
Items Rolled: pearls, set of butterfly wings with false eyes, two halves of a coconut shell, palm leaves, moss
RP of Building Disguise:
"Oooooooo crafting something? That sounds like fun!" Enchantress had been quite enjoying running around the forest, the dark didn't particularly bother her, though it did make it harder for other kin to follow her around like normal. It was one of the reasons she'd managed to leave Bloody War Paint at their Resting Place with Brambleblind for some alone time without the two noticing. The doe giggled to herself. No one could complain about her walking around alone since she couldn't see if none of them could see! Well, they could, but if they didn't see her leave they couldn't stop her. Humming to herself the doe began to nose though the small pile in front of her. It all smelled quite new, though she recognized some smells from the caves, and others from what she was told was the ocean. Eventually she ended up with a nose-full of something squisy and sticky, and sneezed. Pawing around her hoof clunked against something hard, making a noise like a kin walking. The doe's ears perked up and she reached out for the object. It seemed there were two! The doe continued to clink them together a few more times, doing her best to mimic a kin's hoof-beats before feeling around the object with her nose. It seemed like it had a cavity on both parts, so she began to shove whatever she could inside. That strange sticky stuff with the odd smell that seemed to slide everywhere, those round and smooth things that she couldn't bite, what she was pretty sure was moss from the taste... one thing she grabbed seemed to fall apart in her mouth like a bug, so she ate it. It wasn't particularly tasty but the texture was interesting.
She decided to be a bit more careful with the rest. She could tell what the berries were, and there were two other quite sticky things so she used those to try and stick the sides together, placing the large silky bundle inside as well before wrapping it inside the large, odd-smelling leaves and long vines (she snacked on a few of those as well), before deciding she was quite done with whatever she was making.
Please with herself, the doe hopped up and wandered off to see what everyone else was making.

LOOK WHAT I MADE!
Kin Name: Ritual Destruction
Preference List: purple, pink, teal, cyan, jerboa
Items Rolled: Coral, Crushed up seashells, Set of butterfly wings with false eyes, Intact skeleton, Shiny rocks from the volcano
RP of Building Disguise: Ritual looked at everything he had and began to slowly, meticulously set to work . The berries were carefully mashed and mixed and smeared over the driftwood to give it new colors then he laid the spiderweb and sac down the butterfly wings affixed just so at the lower part of the web so they fluttered slightly in the breeze.
Next he smeared the slime and sap together and sprinkled the coral, crushed up shells and shiny rocks all over the surface before he used the clay to hold the vines closed after he wrapped it around the skeleton he wanted to put on it too. That done he stepped back to look at his ooey, gooey shiny mess. Maybe he could use it to scare the motes into a trap...it was pretty horrible looking he reasoned.

LOOK WHAT I MADE!
Kin Name: All Debts Paid
Preference List: purple, pink, teal, cyan, jerboa
Items Rolled: Ball of hair, Intact skeleton, Coral, Variegated banana leaves, Discarded, shed snakeskin
RP of Building Disguise:Debt looked down at the various items unsure how to make them work for him at first. After some thought he wrapped the banana leaves around the driftwood, clay stuck between leaves and wood to keep them from falling off. That done he smushed berries along the berries dying some of them a little before he stuck the web and sac over a berry clump.
His eyes narrowed and he stuck his tongue out as he worked to get the shedded snake skin that he held in place with some of the slime, the ball of hair set there as well before the sap was smushed on and he started to put the coral all over it along with the skeleton before finally he wrapped it all in the jasmine vines. It was such a sticky mess that he thought maybe, just maybe the motes might get stuck to the sap and webs and could be caged up that way!

LOOK WHAT I MADE!
Kin Name: Sun
Preference List: Just glow, please!
Items Rolled: Pinecones, Red Sand, Four-Leaf Clover, Set of Butterfly Wings with False Eyes, Pearls
RP of Building Disguise: Sun was a kin that, even in the darkness of the night, could always be spotted from a distance. Her fur was an iridescent sort of crimson-shadowed gold, and her plating, even in the dimmest light, seemed to be somewhat shadowed. A disguise, however was something meant to change that. The clay, sand, slime and goo all jumped out to the doe, giving her an idea-- she could, if she mixed them enough and roll into it, change her colour.
She separated the clay out, adding red sand in two different quantities to it, and then used sap and berries until the colours she had resembled tree bark, dead foliage, and several shades of earth. A particularly large piece of driftwood was good for rolling against, to help get the stuff over her back... and when pieces broke off, that gave her even more ideas.
It took roping in another kin to actually make use of the jasmine vines they'd been provided, to tie branches to her horns, so that her silhouette was broken up a little better than before, and seemed a little less obviously kin-like.
With that, she was ready to hunt!

LOOK WHAT I MADE!
Kin Name: True to Myself
Preference List: Just glow, please!
Items Rolled: Sparkly Stones, Starfish, Ball of Hair, Tuft of Pink Fur, Variegated Banana Leaves
RP of Building Disguise: True to Myself knew many things about costuming and disguise-- firstly and foremostly, that nothing would be unable to tell something the size of a kin that was moving around wasn't a kin. Because of that, she concluded that her task was to make something flashy and interesting.
Sparkly stones made of brittle material were easy enough to stomp into a sparkling gravel, and sap made quick work of turning it into an improvised paint. A starfish went onto her headplating, but only after the underside was lined with carefully-teased clumps from a gigantic tuft of brightly-pink fur.
The last, and most difficult part, was finding someone to help her tie banana leaves-- only the brightest and most starkly striped ones-- with vines, so that she could drape them around her plating.
When she finished, with her accessories, she carefully used a hoof to grind on the sparkling sap to both the starfish and the leaves, and had a couple volunteers help her put them on, and applied the rest of the sparkling goop to her exposed fur.
If the motes were attracted to novelty, she would attract them like moths to a flame.

LOOK WHAT I MADE!
Kin Name: Chirrup
Preference List: Just glow, please!
Items Rolled: Palm Leaves, Two Halves of a Coconut Shell, Discarded Shed Snakeskin, [Wildcard!], Lucky Chicken Foot
RP of Building Disguise: Vines-- check! Coconut shell, Cracked clean in two with room to loop a bit of vine between them-- check!! Chirrup's best guess about what would disguise a kin to a living light was that they probably couldn't see very well-- so what had to be disguised, instead of sight, was sound.
It took some time to get the coconut shells together, and then the doe was able to wrap them around her neck. if she walked with the right sort of gait, they clattered together... and she was able to fine-tune the noise with adjustments and additional vines.
At last, she added one final touch-- a cock's foot that she'd had for some time, one that had become somewhat of a lucky charm of her. Putting it between the shells made the clattering noises so much better, adding both noise and a unique sort of character-- the perfect final touch to her strange nosiemaker.
She wriggled into her new contraption with gusto, and then trotted off to show the Helper her creation.
