There was no way Illuminating could bring herself to strike at another kin, not even once. She’d considered it, as she watched the others pairing up and trading blows. Thankfully they’d given another option and set up dummies to fight against solo, which also made her feel awkward but wasn’t nearly as bad as looking someone in the eyes and trying to hit them.
So the Zikwa stepped up towards the dummy and murmured, ‘I’m sorry’ before trying to give it a good whack.

Only to immediately miss because she’d squeezed her eyes shut in anticipation of the impact.
Not that her vision was very good even with her eyes open, especially in near complete darkness. Which left her in a bit of a pickle. How was she going to hit her target?

She was going to have to make it absolutely foolproof.
Illuminating turned around, facing her rear to the dummy. She lifted one back hoof, to feel where it was and then lined up as best she could, trying to get the right angle.
Keeping: 1, 6 ,6

She popped her hoof back down and took a steadying breath.
Just imagine, she told herself as a pep talk, that it’s some super evil entity that has stolen the sun and the only way to get the light back is to give him a big smack.
Illuminating gritted her teeth, gathered her strength...
... and kicked!
Keeping: 1, 6 , 6 , 1
Rerolling the 5

And her kick hit the dummy dead on. With a loud crack, it shattered.
Illuminating nearly fell over from the shock. She stumbled sideways and turned to peer through the shadows at what remained. She’d done it? She’d done it! Hooray! The sun was back! She had defeated the evil!
She did a little wriggly dance on the spot in celebration.
Turned out she was a lot stronger than she thought... when able to hit the thing she was aiming for. Maybe all that walking from the caves to here had really made a difference. She must have pretty strong legs.
Proud of her efforts, Illuminating was beaming.
Motes had gathered and after a moment spent enjoying the glow of success, she began to gather them, slowly taking them back to the collection. They’d gotten so many. Surely soon they could bring back the sunshine. Nothing would make her happier now than to just curl up in a sunny spot, listen to the bird singing and feel warmth on her back.
Soon, she promised.
Final Roll: 1, 1, 1, 6 , 6
