[COMBAT HELPER] Born of Death

Post by Beejoux »

Born wasn't at all sure how this was going to go. Sightlessness aside, they were not a terribly athletic kin, nor did they have any sort of experience with combat at all. This was supposed to help, though. Deathhad done his part, taking the dummy down in one power swing of that muscular tail (so they'd been told), and now it was their turn to step. Up. They couldn't not try, not if it would help in some way.

So they walked gingerly forward, letting Haven guide their steps, trusting the sanddog to lead them to where they needed to go. They just needed to kick out, connect. They could do this.

Carefully the Zikwa shifted, half turning so they could extend a foot out, feeling for the dummy. When they found it they nodded, bringing that foot back, winding up...

It wasn't a very powerful kick, but it did hit the dummy, which in turn bolstered the dainty zikwa 's confidence a bit. Just a little more power, and perhaps they could knock it over as well.

[COMBAT HELPER] Born of Death

"Okay, we can do better than that," they murmured, to Haven as much as to themself. Determined, not just to help, but to prove themself capable of it.

Once again they reached out with a tentative foot to feel for the dummy, and when they felt their dainty hoof touch it, heard Haven's confirming yip, they brought that leg up again, mustering up the strength that had to work with.

When they kicked this time the wood gave, the dummy falling apart at their feet. Born stood still and surprised for a moment, then let out a carefully contained little sound of triumph. With Haven's help they made their way back to Death, practically vibrating with excitement. "Did you see? I knocked it over!"
