[B] An Interesting Development (Be Afraid x Albatross)

Post by lilacfishie »

He stood stone still by the river, as he often did. The animals around him still grew quiet and scampered away, as they often did. Be Afraid flicked an eye-mimicking ear as he glanced around. This was certainly an...interesting situation he found himself in. The time he had with that strange buck was...nice. Now it was time to be responsible. Be Afraid stood in thought a few moments longer, unsure of the magic at play here.

These legendary kin, blessed by the Motherfather, just knew when expecting kin needed their blessing? Hm.

Well, he certainly wanted his offspring to grow strong and capable. He wanted them to be swift and discerning. He wanted Obsessor to endure this process as comfortably as possible.

And so, Be Afraid became animated once more, and stepped into the light. A low rumble rolled through his chest as he heaved a breath. "Come then," he declared.

[B] An Interesting Development (Be Afraid x ???)

First she saw the feathers and then the eyes. Multiple eyes. Well, she knew a few kin that would be into that kind of thing and would harvest for all the wrong or right reasons. This buck seemed to be in the middle of working something out. Albatross had the time and the curiosity. And who was Albatross to turn down a challenge? And so she came. She pulled at his tail feathers.

The large buck heard quiet rustling in the bush by him, and before he knew it, something was tugging on his tail feathers. Clenching his jaw, he swung his head around to regard the creature. To his, albeit minor, surprise, the being he loomed over was a...furbody? And, somehow, this furbody was stranger than the rest, as it had a large poof of...hair? Atop it. Before his confusion could register more, he clocked the glowing eyes.

He knew legendary kin could take other forms, but a furbody was probably last on his list of expected ones. Nonetheless, the call was answered. And standing here, looming over the being who is meant to help him, was not ideal.

Be Afraid cleared his throat quietly, dismissing the growl that had boiled in his chest from something sneaking up behind him. That was not the way to do this.

"Well met, are you the Legendary kin that I seek?" he asked, his voice a low bass.

ImageAlbatross cast one last forlorn glance at the bright feathers and with a gentle last tug, she let go with her tentacles. Though there was a specific doe in mind who would love a plume, now was not the time to take or even ask. Nor was this form suitable for communication. Shifting to her Mare form, the ghostly tendrils of the furbody close by, she appraised the anxious buck.

"Greetings. What is it that you seek?"

Be Afraid's eyes widened in shock as he watched the creature before him transform into the Mare. So, the things he heard were true. He knew they had to be, as he tracked her glowing eyes. She seemed to be fixated on the plumes of his tail. Thankfully, it also gave him a moment to compose himself. When their eyes met again, he gave a respectful bow of his head following her greeting.

"I seek your blessing upon my coming offspring," the buck said, confidence back and his usual demeanor back in place. He tilted his tail up and flicked the bright plumes she had hear eye on earlier. "I'd be happy to offer a plume or two in exchange."

Albatross was amused at the deference of the kimeti buck. He had just seen her in the octo furbody form and that was the opposite of anything awe inspiring. Still, she was touched and tried to hide the glee and twinkle of avarice in her eyes at his offer. Damn, this buck was really cool. She should really bargain, but life was good and the promise of two was better than she expected. She knew just the kin to give the feathers to- the fire of her heart that kept her warm on these lonesome nights.

"You have yourself a deal. I bless your coming brood to be as magnificently regal, prideful, and with eagle eyes to see their prey far away." The latter was a last minute addition- it was the eyes. They were mesmerizing and she was reminded of their potential uses during the blessing.

She shifted to her water form and with a quick hop, tugged on two tail feathers before waddling away to a secret hiding space. These love trinkets would be kept safe for when her path crossed with the other doe.
