A chance encounter had brought an unexpected surprise. The doe and buck ventured together, making small talk as they ventured out to seek a blessing. Be a Dear had promised to stay until the children were independent and Sunny knew he would be true to his word.

"I don't know what to expect," Sunny whispered quietly as they walked.

"I didn't either, but it was wonderful. Each experience is different. Hopefully yours is everything you dream it to be," he nudged her softly. "We'll get through it together."

Sunny smiled softly in response. She knew there was not a romantic future ahead - but a long friendship certainly - he would always be welcome to her tea parties. "A blessing will help at any rate."

Watch Me was like a moth to a flame. Except he was a bird and the flame was two gorgeous Acha who required his immediate and well-timed help.

He swooped in with an onslaught of loud twittering and transformed right in front of the duo with a triumphant, ‘TA-DA!’. One second a bird in mid-flight and the next a resplendent Kiokote with his head tossed back.

Be a Dear jumped while Sunny grinned and laughed as the kiokote appeared.What a wonderful display! As the buck's nerves settled, he relaxed and nodded his head in greeting. "Hello," they both said at the same time, before Sunny continued.
"I believe you're who we're looking for," she said confidently - there was no doubt in her mind in that fact after the performance. "We're expecting children and was hoping you'd provide a blessing upon them."

Sunny paused - she'd never sought a blessing before and wasn't sure what the protocol was. Was she meant to offer payment?
"I didn't bring anything to exchange - but if you'd give me a small amount of time I'd be happy to make you some tea in exchange."

If he had still been a bird, he would have fluffed his feathers and preened. It was always nice to be greeted with a laugh and smile. Oh so often the kin he stumbled on were so sour.

“Of course, I’m the one you’re looking for!” He laughed. “I need absolutely nothing in exchange, your mere company is enough.” He looked them up and down appreciatively. “Such a lovely pair. Your kids shall be simply marvellous!”

He thought for a moment, head tilting slightly. “Though some tea does sound very nice.” Especially if they shared. “Now, what would you like for your children? Any requests?”

Sunny and Be a Dear looked at each other for a moment, seeming to communicate without saying anything. Truthfully, they hadn't put much thought into but they were so alike that the answer was simple.

"We only wish for them to be happy in life, wherever it takes them," Sunny finally said with a nod and a soft smile.
"And to be healthy and kind," Be a Dear added softly.

Watch Me nodded in a slow and knowing way. “Ah yes, the classics, very traditional, a wonderful choice!” If it had been anyone else, perhaps someone not an Acha, he might have called it boring. But he didn’t, because they weren’t.

He took a deep breath -

“Dear MotherFather!” He announced to the swamp in his booming voice. “May these new lives be blessed with happiness, health and kind hearts! Like their wonderful parents!”

He paused for a moment to listen to the chirrup of cicadas and slightly alarmed birdsong as if expecting something back.

“Well,” he said, after a moment, “that’s done.” He grinned. “So shall we, uh, go get some of that tea?”
