Starfish could do with a blessing right about now.
It's nearly dark by the time the pregnant doe makes her slow and plodding way into Hush's stretch of the swamp. The zikwa's eyes glow bright in the deepening dark, an almost ominous glow. Yet her expression is kind when she approaches.
"You smell of the salt of the sea," she says by way of greeting. She's only been a few times in her life but it's such a unique smell, she'd recognize it anywhere. The brine of salt seems practically infused in this one's coat.
"I am.. very far.. from home.." Starfish huffs, and then stops to stare at the mare in front of her.

Hush's mongoose form jumps up and into a low hanging branch, and Starfish flinches in surprise before her eyes widen and her mouth falls open in an 'o' of shock.
"You're... That's - you're one of the ones I've been looking for! I'm Starflower Fish, though my family call me Starfish." She exclaims, excited and relieved at once.
Hush laughs softly, kindly, and tilts her head in curiosity.
"Yes, it would seem so. You can call me Hush. I sensed your need before your arrival. But I'm no mind reader. Tell me, what is it you wish to ask of me?"
"Oh... Well," Starfish hesitates a little. "I've never been a mother before, and now that the time is nearing I thought.. well. I'm worried, I suppose. My grandmother says it's normal, but still. I just want to make sure nothing..bad happens. You know. What if I'm not very good at it in the end? Or... Or I don't know."
Hush nods and says seriously, "I'm sure you'll be okay. It sounds like you have family who love you and will help support you, but it's normal to be nervous or even afraid. Your grandmother is right. Still, if it will ease your worry it's my pleasure to say that I give you my blessing, that your birth be as easy as such things can be, that your children be strong and quick -to better avoid the dangers of our world. Now come - my den is not far, and I would be a terrible host not to invite you to stay the evening. You can head back home when you're ready. I hope you don't mind cave worms..."
