[PRP] here wolf (Merry Berry & Murkcrow)

Post by Mima »

It was in the dying of the light that she was most active. When the shadows stretched and twisted wildly with any tiny move. She blended in better at these times, the little errors in her still unpracticed movements more easily forgiven. Though she did make the occasional effort to do something truly outlandish, only to see if she'd be noticed. It was no fun to simply be a voyeur, after all. Any number of kin could claim to do that.

If it took the buck too long to notice his shadow had been replaced with a wolf-shaped thing, its eyes twinkling in the twilight- she would move on. She wasn't as interested in stalking him in particular as she was in if she'd be caught.

[PRP] here wolf (Merry Berry & Murkcrow)

Post by Tiarana »

Murkcrow had been out on a long day of hunting and he had several small, dead critters draped over his back, along with a number of mushrooms and tubers secured to the bundle with twine. His sand dog sniffed curiously around his hooves as he paused for a moment to squint through the trees at the setting sun.

A fine sight. Murkcrow nodded approvingly and whistled to the dog as he set on the path again. The sun dropped lower on the horizon as they headed towards home as the shadows of the trees streamed towards them in the gathering dusk. Murkcrow paused at a shrubbery laden with sweet berries, and when he turned around, he blinked. Something was odd about the shadows on the ground, but he couldn't quite figure out what it was.

There was the shadow of the dog, stretched out on lanky legs; the trees, cross-crossing; and...

Instead of a familiar elongated kimeti shadow, there was something else, perhaps not as distorted as it should have been, and certainly not the right shape. It resembled the dog more than himself.

Murkcrow looked down at it. "Perhaps my eyes are playing tricks on me," he finally said out loud. "It has been a long day, after all."

“Quicker to blame your eyes for playing tricks than anything else?” Chimed the sing-song, dainty voice of the shadow.

It rose up from the ground at the edges of his shadow and seemed to take shape, though it still lacked all color except in its glowing, lupine eyes. All said it was perhaps a bit… smaller than the Kimeti it had been intimidating. Distinctly Acha-sized. And shaped.

Still, the were-mare took just one short step backwards, tilting her head. “I suppose some are the type to daydream frequently enough that would make sense, though.”
