Name Origin:She lived on her own on the seashore, spending what time she wasn't engrossed in the work of survival singing out over the water. She seldom had visitors, but it seemed she left a lasting impression as she fled into the sea to avoid their company. Rumors spread of a doe in a cove who would disappear from sight in a flash and a splash, and so of course others would eventually come.

One day, she did not flee far enough under the water before resurfacing, and one such visitor was finally able to track down her den. When they finally saw her, as they both stood frozen in the moment between what had been and what would be, the first thing they said to her was, "So... you're the mystery singer who haunts this beach..."

Whatever else happened after, she did not have a name before, and she liked the sound of "mystery singer" well enough. So she kept it.
