[Blessing] Celestial Awakening x Midnight's Requiem

Celestial Awakening and Midnight's Requiem were destined to be together. It was written in the stars so to speak. Neither of them could deny the attraction they had for each other, or the bond they shared. They had both pledged themselves to each other as forever mates and hoped to one day have a family together. Their love story was something they would tell to their children someday.

As the days were getting cooler and nights longer, they felt it was time. Midnight had heard of an elder who could bestow a blessing on couples that would help them bear children. She mentioned this to Celestial and they both agreed that no matter what, they would be happy with whatever beautiful gifts the fates would bestow upon them.

They made the journey together to find the elder, bringing with them a small gift of some fruits and berries as an offering. Cestial carried the gift in a leaf bundled together and tied with some vine. As they walked, Midnight hummed quietly, causing a tranquil calm to wash over them.

Their journey together led them to The Mothers Club. The active tribe was spread out over vibrant fertile land full of meadows and copses, the trees turning to autumn colours and a lazy little stream bubbling along to quench their thirst. Populated by many kin, adults and foals alike, it was a hub for new parents and parents-to-be.

Peep met them there, the matriarch of the tribe, a petite Acha with glowing eyes and a warm smile. Her spirit larger than her size, her gaze was a welcoming embrace. She’d clearly been expecting them, immediately inspecting Midnight’s Requiem and nodding happily to herself.

“Welcome,” she said. “I’m glad you could make it.”

As they arrived they both took in the beautiful scenery that laid out before them and met many of the other kin who inhabited the area. Midnight nodded as many said hello as they passed by and she noticed that there were many expectant mothers here. She wondered if they too had come here for a blessing or had made this their home.

Celestial stood proud as they walked through, staying by his mate's side. "There's so many kin here. How will we kn-" he started to ask her through his teeth so he didn't drop the bundle. Just as he was about to ask, the acha approached, welcoming them.

Midnight smiled back at her and returned her greeting. Having never met an elder before, she wasn't sure who they were looking for exactly. "Thank you. Your home here is magnificent. We have come seeking an elder. We have heard stories that they might bless us as we hope to bare children. Can you help us find them?"

They were a beautiful pair. Peep could tell the love that flowed between them, the connection they had forged, and she was so happy to know it was there. Any offspring born to these two would be greatly adored, and that was all she ever desired for any foal born into the Swamp.

And children they would have. Peep could sense the new life already beginning to grow, like small seeds that would soon sprout and take root, grow strong.

“My name is Peep. I am the one you seek.” She wanted to keep them, watch over them forever, but this pair would surely not remain. They had their own little world. They wouldn’t need her like others did. “It’s wonderful to meet you. I would be honoured to less you and your children-to-be.”

Midnight squealed with glee, so happy that they had found her. She turned to Celestial who was struggling to hold onto the offering now, so she quickly moved to help him. She grabbed the side of the leaf that had started to fall from his lips and together they lowered it to the ground. "We have brought you a small gift. I hope you like it." She looked back to her mate, and then to Peep. "We are so excited to meet you. My name is Midnight's Requiem, and my mate is Celestial Awakening. You may call us Midnight and Celest if you wish."

"How lovely!" Peel exclaimed over their leaf-wrapped gift. "Midnight and Celest. You're both welcome at this tribe. This land is dedicated to mothers and families. We help care for foals and pregnant does, offering a safe space to grow and rest." Maybe she could coax them into staying for a little while.

"Midnight's Requiem and Celestial Awakening," Peep's eyes sparkled with joy. "You are to be parents soon." She gave them the news with a delighted wriggle of her nose. "May they be healthy and carefree, loved and adored and in return willing to share that same happiness with others."

Midnight leaned against Celest, tears forming in her eyes at the words Peep had spoken. She looked up to meet his gaze as he was staring back at her with tears in his own eyes that threatened to fall. His smile could hardly be contained. He pressed his temple to hers and said to Peep. "Thank you. Our gratitude could never be measured even by counting the stars of the sky."

The couple would consider the offer to stay in the tribe, at least for a while.
