[ORP] The Royal Rainbow Troupe Impromptu Party Fun Time!

It was the sort of spring day that felt special - it was waking up with the smell of fresh flowers in your nose, the soft warmth of the sun on your body and a tenderness in your heart that made you want to share something with the world.

This was a day of possibilities!

“We shall do something great today!” Watch Me declared, with much gravitas, from where he was resting, berry juice still on his chin from breakfast. “We shall have a great celebration,” he gave each one of his darling Acha (and some of the other less Acha-ly folks) a poignant stare as he paused for effect, “for Perfect Star!”

The dog, hearing her name and now the focus of many stares, thumped her tail lazily but didn’t bother to get up.

And so it was decided, with many a fleet-footed Acha sent to spread the word and gather enough supplies of fermented berry juice to make it a very good time.

Come one, come all! To an impromptu Royal Rainbow Troupe party for one roly-poly over-pampered puppy! Bring yourself, your pets, your mum and dad, your really hot Acha bestie that Watch Me would totally love to meet. Come mingle, drink too much and wait for Perfect Star to finally, after years of training, do a single trick (no actual promises).

The sun was setting by the time the party had begun but they'd somehow managed to pull off something amazing - a bonfire roared, food spilled off hastily carried leaves, turtle shells looked close to tipping every time someone took a big sip of the fermented contents, and chatter filled the air. Watch Me was proud of his troupe and mingled from one little group to the other, greeting guests and flirting shamelessly as he went.

Perfect Star had been given a bundle of furs near the fire, so that she could be approached for kisses and attention. If they were lucky, they’d get a slobbering kiss in return and maybe a happy ‘wuff’.

[imgleft]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... uncert.png[/imgleft] Drown was not surprised that Watch Me wanted to throw a party for Perfect Star. He spoils her so much. He giggled a bit to himself at that. "I guess that means we should have a grand feast in her honor."

Drown sent Screech off to do some hunting for the party. They were great at catching small prey like rabbits or mice. Their ability to move silently making them an effective hunter as well as a great partner for some of his more complex tricks. Rabbit meat is a great treat for both kin and familiar. Image Half Truth had heard about the party at length from an acha who'd stumbled across her as she was working out in a water meadow, and she was just bored enough with her routine that she was keen to attend. When it became obvious over the course of their conversation that the party was for a dog, the mare decided it would be hilarious to show up to the party in a form more familiar to the guest of honor. Imploring her guide not to tell, she shifted, leaning into her eaglehound form. It really was delightful, being able to switch shapes- such a strange feeling, but such a fun one. She winked at her co-conspirator, who winked back. "Woof," she said as she approached the bonfire, then sat down, wagging her tail for authenticity.

Image When Legs had come across the kimeti, she hadn't figured her for anything special. Glowing eyes were normal for them, right? This one was just absolutely stacked. However, when she turned into an eaglehound, well. That was... that was one heck of a party trick. Perfect for this trick party. She plunked herself down next to Drown, helping herself to some fermented fruit juice. "I haven't missed the big event, have I? Has Perfect Star performed?"

“Well, aren’t you a fancy one.” Prize stopped beside the Eaglehound, looking down at it curiously. “Be careful or you’ll show up tonight’s star.” She hadn’t missed the glowing eyes - too much time spent in the presence of Rouge gave the game away - but the rest of the tribe was certainly air-headed and distracted enough not to notice.

Then she dipped her head a little, dropping her voice to a whisper, brow creasing in worry. “It’s not me is it? Motherfather, once was enough. I love them but I don't need any more.”

Dextrous didn't really care much for parties. He was born into the fairy tribe and as such was used to what was more or less a constant party all year long. He was more interested in discoveries and in furthering knowledge and gathered data. Still, he showed up at the troupe party because he was insatiably nosy. He didn't actually have any pets, and hadn't brought one, though he figured that he could wave this off easily enough by saying it was a really small fly or something which had slunk off on its own.

From what he could see, this tribe was similar in their grand attitude to hedonism as his parents, and his disdain was significant.

Maybe he could find someone to question about all of this.

[imgleft]http://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/image ... e_ruri.gif[/imgleft]Nothing escaped Watch Me’s notice, especially not the arrival of a handsome Acha from the Fairy Court. A whispered word in his ear and the Kiokote was on high alert, absolutely delighted, ears perked, scanning the crowd for the telltale antlers.

Ah, there he was! Delightful! Clearly he had come to see not just Perfect Star (who was perfect in every way and deserved to be seen) but Watch Me himself, the most esteemed Sun King.

“I’ll be back in a moment, darling one,” he said to the sand dog, still lazily on her furs, her tail thumping with a bit more enthusiasm having scented another canine in the vicinity. Then he was off, heading straight towards Dextrous.

“Welcome!” He boomed, approaching with large strides.

Dextrous was an Acha who was markedly larger than most of his kin, but with none of the muscular build of his mother. He simply looked as if someone had writ Acha proportions large without changing a thing. He was still dainty in build with slender bones and lean muscle. However, in spite of being built for grace, he possessed little of it, instead quite awkward in his movements. He looked wide eyed and startled as Watch Me approached, instinctually tucking up his canine tail.

"Erm.. Er." he said.

"Hell--- hello."

He was confident in matters of study and discovery, but social encounters always derailed him a bit.

Parrot Head didn't need an excuse to attend a party, especially if it didn't require her planning. She found Watch Me the his affection for his sand dog absolutely endearing, so she was certain she'd be in good company around other fans of the pup. At the very least, she knew she would find herself with good food and good drink, and she happily indulged herself in both.

"So... this feast is your doing? It's a mighty fine doing, it is. Compliments to the cook!" Parrot Head smiled lazily, blinking slowly at the large, purple acha.

“Hello!” Watch Me repeated the greeting, and if he noticed the Acha’s uncertainty, he didn’t show it. Though his demeanour visibly shifted, lessening in intensity as he tossed his head to indicate the party behind him. “So good of you to come! There is so much to see. Please, take part, drink up, eat well. I am Watch Me, your host.” His bow was short but elegant, the dip of a knee and a winning smile.

Totem kept to the edges of the party with eyes bright, but always just a step too shy to approach anyone. Still, the smell of berries and fermented juice was intoxicating. Pun very much intended.

She laughed to herself just a bit at that. Maybe, just maybe, if she kept near Watch Me or Prize one of them would introduce her to someone! Or at least tolerate her presence for a bit. The younger acha knew her mother must be lurking nearby, and would greatly disapprove of her putting herself in the spotlight and if she was close to one of them then maybe Mama wouldn't pester or scold her this time.

Her mother was behind her.

Always watching. Thunder had hoped that, by now, her daughter would be able to tell when the lithe kimeti that birthed her was near. Alas, she'd never caught the knack.

"You may join," she said to her tiny child, "but please be careful. Not all are as kind and inviting as the troupe."

With that she was off to find her own, incredibly small, circle of friends.

[imgleft]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... uncert.png[/imgleft] Drown couldn't help beaming a bit at the compliment "Thanks, but I can't take all the credit for it. Screech helped me gather the meat and it helps to have Spotlight here to cook it."
@zeflamigo

"No, you haven't missed anything. The performance hasn't happened yet." He said to Legs, offering her a bit of cooked meat. "But maybe soon after a bit of food she will." He said with a smile.

[imgleft]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... uncert.png[/imgleft]  Offering heard the Sun King was having a party, and she had to be there! She was enamored with the radiant kio, and was delighted to be a part of the party. She wore as many flowers as she could possibly decorate her body with, around her neck and head and back, all in pink and white and blue. Her tail whipped around in excitment. The fairy tribe and the troupe should have much better relations, she thought, considering their leader was crowned Sun King and all. Offering wanted to give something to the party, but she figured her presence would be good enough!

She approached the guest of honor and gave the puppy a smile, before she approached a bright orange acha with an unusual appearance. As part of the fairy court, she was used to unconventional appearances. "A lovely party, isn't it?" she said gently.

[imgleft]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... ncert3.png[/imgleft]The sun was high, its gentle spring gaze warmed the swamp below. The air was thickening, slowly losing its thin, winter feeling and becoming more humid with every passing day. Spring was here in Matope. And so the Crane shook the stiffness from his feathers and took to the air once more.

For once it was not the familiar tether that connected him to those calling that directed his flight. No, this was a different feeling. One he had missed. A gathering was happening, he could feel it. What's more, there was Another here, one like him. Most interesting. Another story just waiting to unfold. He inhaled deeply, reveling in the taste. It had been far too long, he thought as he banked, lowering down from the clouds in slow spirals.

He landed gracefully, tucking his long wings close to his body as he did what he did best. Just inside the tree line, he watched, trails of magic drifting slowly from his sunset eyes.

'I see,' He thought, narrowing his eyes as he scanned the group.

Two tribes were converging, the Royal Rainbow Troupe and the Fairy Court. His eyes glinted excitedly. These were kin who knew how to entertain. While he had not met either leader, he had heard many interesting things about them through his travels.

He found the Other quickly, her huge presence spilling out of her eaglehound form. 'Interesting', he thought. This was one he hadn't met yet.

He spied many Acha, which came as no surprise. Watch Me's taste had proceeded him. So bright and radiant they all were, happily enjoying the company of others. Except for one. His red eyes found the small red Acha, keeping herself just out of sight not far from where he perched.

Curiously, he tilted his head, looking at her more closely. He watched as a small Kimeti came up to talk to her, leaving shortly after. Interest piqued, he lifted himself with a beat of his great wings, suddenly, feathers became fur and the stag moved to settle himself a fox-length away from the doe. Unintruding, he hoped.

"Greetings young one," When the stag spoke, his voice was like waves crashing upon the rocks. He offered her a warm, apologetic smile, "I hope I'm not interrupting. I was not given an invitation, but it is hard to resist a good gathering."

[imgleft]http://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/image ... uncert.png[/imgleft]Parrot Head had her muzzle deep in fermented fruit when As the Sun Burns had arrived on the scene. The sight of the crane transforming made her choke on her drink, causing her to cough and sputter. While she had no idea who or what he was, the sight of such a strong presence filled her with a strange emotion. She felt vulnerable, like she was a foal again, all too curious with no parents patient enough to answer her questions. Still, she couldn’t help but ask.

"Did you just see... did that crane just..." Parrot Head wondered aloud, looking at Drown and the other nearby kin. She looked down at her drink, squinting at it. Perhaps she should have paced herself, if she was seeing things this early in the night.
