[PRP] All Debts Paid & Darkest Magic

[imgleft]http://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/image ... uncert.png[/imgleft] Debts wandered, a lot. He'd yet to find anywhere to truly settle and call 'home' and that was okay. He knew that one day, he'd find the spot he was meant to be, even if it wasn't an ideal location to most. He traveled based on his whims, and desires. Sometimes he followed interesting news about certain things, other times he just let his hooves carry him.

His swan was his only constant companion, and he talked to it. A lot. Not that it did much more than honk at him in return but that was okay. Debts held up both sides of the conversation with ease and he didn't feel strange talking to the bird, or answering for it. All That Remains kept him sane in his lonely travels.

Debts had been looking up at the sky as he walked for some time now, aware of something in the sky above, and he was approaching cautiously, warily. He knew there were birds that could attack on a whim, and these...well he didn't fully recognize the dark shapes he could see above, or what sort of potentially ominous presence could be below.

Still he was a curious buck and he made his way cautiously, Remains, currently no where to be seen though he'd heard the bird not long before. He was sure it was off foraging for food. Smart bird. Maybe it was about time for him to stop and eat as well. Fortunately he had a small amount of food he'd been carrying along with himself. Now it was a matter of settling somewhere for a bit. Maybe away from the dark birds in the sky, so they didn't dive at him for his meal.

[imgleft]http://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/image ... uncert.png[/imgleft] Darkest Magic had decided she should go out on a bit of a walk and see a bit of a more seclusive part of the swamp. Not too many kin wandered over this way on accident, and fewer came here by choice, so she knew this would probably be the perfect place for her to find  place for some much wanted quiet, even though that would still be difficult to find due to her crow companion Death and all of Death's friends. Nonetheless, she still wanted somewhere away from the company of other kin. As she walked through the forest, she had noticed that the crows' sounds had gotten a bit louder, but she ignored it as they were always loud so she assumed they were crowing louder just because they could. She started to have a suspicion that something was up though when they had decided to circle around for a bit in one spot. "Death," she said to her crow, "can you go check out what it is your friends are squawking about?" Death just looked at her with a seeming look of confusion and lightly crowed at her. "Okay then, I guess that didn't work. Fine, I'll go look for what they are squawking about myself. It looks like they are circling over something or someone over in that small grove over there. I really hope it's nothing or like an animal or something and not a kin." She walked a bit further to where the crows where circling at and saw there was a kin walking away from there. "Oh, why did it have to be a kin? I guess I'll try asking him what it is he's doing here? Hey, you, what are you doing all the way out here?"

He'd been trying to find a safe spot to stop and eat, a little more sheltered from the crows when he heard someone call out to him, and he hadn't expected that. To be fair Debts thought he was on his own out there save for Remains, which was still off somewhere. It was a little worrying given the birds in the sky, but his companion was resourceful so he wasn't as worried as he could have been.

The doe coming towards him was like no other he'd seen in his travels, and he lost himself staring a moment. He could feel magic seeping from her. This, was a special doe.

"Doing here? Passing through. Well that's the broad plan. Currently, looking for somewhere quiet to settle and eat where I perhaps won't get swarmed by birds trying to steal my food." he paused a moment. "Am I somewhere I shouldn't be?" well, best to be sure!

[Eevee]

She gave a long sigh and rolled her eyes a little. Of course he was somewhere he shouldn't be, didn't he know better? Of course not, or he wouldn't have asked and she sighed louder. "Of course you are, can't you tell?" several crows landed in her large horns then, and she had to laugh. "This is a bad place to come to not have your food stolen. The crows like food." especially easy to steal food. "I guess you can stay and eat, but they might take your food. Or anything else they find interesting."

He frowned hearing they might steal his food, he was hungry! Still, he sighed a little and found a place to settle, just about the time the dark swan descended from the sky and settled by him, making a loud noise at the crows who tried to get near him.

It was surprisingly effective, and he gave a soft laugh as he ate the berries he had on hand, a few offered to All That Remains, who ignored them in favor of flapping his wings at the birds.

"Sorry for being where I shouldn't, I'll be on my way." it was a quick meal at least, so hopefully he hadn't irritated the interesting doe too much!

The swan keeping her crows at bay was interesting, and she stepped forward. "Wait, before you go. Can I interest you in a trade? One of my crows for your swan?" it seemed fair to her, a bird for a bird.

The offer stunned him and he shook his head. "No, I couldn't give him up. However...I can get you a swan. I passed by some on my way here. I can get you an egg to keep warm and hatch." but not his swan. There was no way he'd give him up, even for one of those stunning crows.

[Eevee]

"Okay. You get me a swan egg, and you can have one of my crows. Be quick about it before I change my mind. I'll be waiting just look for all the crows." she walked away from him then the crows flying up. She wouldn't wait long, so she really hoped he could do this fast.

He felt relief and nodded his head. "I'll be as quick as I can!" and without another word he started to backtrack to the best of his ability, to find the swans and eggs he'd passed earlier. All That Remains flew along beside him, as if he knew where they were going. What they were up to. Anything to keep his beloved companion at his side, Debts figured. Though of course being a bird, it would be hard to keep him in one spot.

Still as they reached the watery area he recalled, Remains flew at nesting swans, and began to harass them, causing a loud, honking distraction to let Debts sneak in close, and nose an egg onto a a large leaf before he carefully used some mud to secure the leaf, and picked it up in his mouth. With a muffled call to his swan, he looked up at the sky and saw where the crows were and started off at a run, loud angry honking behind them, the flapping of wings. Mama swan was pissed.

Debts didn't stop though, losing the swan-mom in the trees and undergrowth, Remains having flown off to avoid the wrath as well. He didn't blame him!

Back in the small clearing he stood there sides heaving, the leaf wrapped egg sat down and he called out for the doe. "I got it! I got your egg!" he didn't know how long it had taken, he just hoped he'd been fast enough that she hadn't left.

She had left minutes after him. The crows let her know he was coming back so she came back and was waiting for him but he couldn't see her right away and finally she stepped out of the trees and darkness they gave. She saw the leaf bundle and nodded. "So you did, okay then. You can have a crow I guess." a few quiet words later and one crow was flying towards him and landing on the ground while she looked at the leaf package and opened it to make sure he wasn't playing a trick on her. "You have your bird, I have my egg. Now go away." she took her egg and walked away the crows following.

He called out a belated thank you to the doe as she walked away with the egg and other birds, and staring at the crow he now had, gave a small smile. "Now I've got to figure out a name for you, don't I?" a sharp caw from the crow in response and he chuckled. "Now, lets go find Remains..." he started walking, away from the clearing and the doe and not at all near the water he'd run from not too long ago. He wasn't risking angry mama swan again!
