Fire of the sun reflected - eyes a mirror
Clear night sky to guide - eyes a window

She closes them, she still shimmers bright

Dancing sparks are what will steer her

fur of tinder
hooves of flint
horns of coal
let the fire consume you
blaze a new trail and
keep fanning those flames
burn all your bridges
until the only thing left is
charred bones
and your heart of ash

downy feathers covered in dust
urge to step out of your shelter
just to feel the cold of the rain
then,
petrichor
gentle light through the clouds
voices carry through the clear air

The death of a tree does not bring down the forest.
The animals make it their home, bugs eat the wood to rot, other saplings take root.
New trees grow and the old trees are forgotten.
When a star shoots, falls, and crashes, the sky does not go dark.
Nothing stays forever.
