MEAN DESERT
Beware Foul Fowl and Cliquey Crooners

The sand starts to feel a little different underboot. It was still sand, but it was no longer the comfy beach sand. It was hotter sand. The beachy waters could still be seen just a little distance away, so does it really matter that the sand feels grittier and not that comfortable? All that was differe—wait, boots?

RULES

3. This is a loosely Wild West AU... barely. It's just kin with western attire. Think bolo ties, cowboy boots and hats, chewing on straw, hindless chaps etc.

STARING CONTEST

A group of mean, sharp, and... leathery? looking marsh fowl peck and scratch at the sand. Two Acha in odd hats keep watch over them and shout some warnings.

"Hey be careful, these Foul Fowl are mean! You probably haven't seen them around at all, so I'll tell you a bit about them. The Foul Fowl are from the edge of the desert and the plains. The desert climate isn't very friendly, and neither are they. However, their eggs are good for eating, they have a bit of a kick to them. And if you can earn their respect, they can become loyal companions and will only bite others. If you have siblings that love to go through your belongings, these birds are great to have, and will screech if anyone comes close to your things."

"You can earn their respect with a starting contest. If you can stay cool and unwavering despite them snapping their beaks, spitting their bile, and whipping their tails, they just may decide to tolerate you. They could take a liking to you right away, or maybe not. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the temper of these birds. You'll have to crouch down to their level, as if you look down at them, they tend to become more aggressive. Best of luck!

HOW TO STARE
This game will conclude December 15th
1. Roll 10d10
2. If SIX OR MORE of the dice rolled over a 5 (so a 6-10), you have successfully stared down the fowl and get ONE ticket. Edit the response to say Yes or No for Success.
3. You may enter a total of four times with one kin or a different kin each time.
4. If you put a little doodle of your kin with western/cowboy attire in the optional response, you automatically get a ticket regardless of your roll. This will work ONCE for a ticket. However, if you want to doodle more, go for it! But it will not continue to count for extra tickets.
5. RP is optional but fun. AND, if you only rolled FIVE dice over 5, a little blurb of RP in the optional response can push it into the success range. This will work ONCE. However, if you want to RP every try, go for it! But it will not continue to count for extra tickets
6. Winners will be rolled on Dec 16th GMT

This contest starts Dec 16th...

A group of Acha sing and laugh in the only shaded part of the desert area. Will you join them? Will you impress them?

A mysterious looking kin with an obnoxiously bright hat approaches you, "If you'd like to befriend any of my grandchildren, I can tell you now they are only impressed by a sharp tongue and a good tune. If they don't like your song, they will let you know with a quickness! So if you think you've got the skills, and thick skin in case of rejection, you can see if they'd like to jam with you.

HOW TO SING
This game will start Dec 16th and conclude Dec 31st
1. You may enter once
2. Write at least one verse and one chorus of a matope-themed country song. You may write more if you'd like, but a chorus and a verse is all that's required
3. I will pick a top 4 (might be more if I really can't choose) and roll for order of prize preferences
