"Sho lemme get thish shtraight," Hang the Moon said between gritted teeth as she dragged a long piece of kelp out of the sea, the waves hampering her movements in addition to the trailing sea plant.

"You shaw two kin...wrapping thish...around one of them...that had a wounded leg?" She managed to drag the kelp up onto the beach and dropped the thick stem she'd been dragging it by, panting softly once she did so. The thick, long, wavy plant was pretty heavy out of the water! She looked at Errant to confirm what he'd said, hopeful that she didn't look too silly now that she was soaking wet. She was sure her mane looked terrible. But the work of a healer was never done and she had to be willing to do anything to help other kin, even get waterlogged trying to harvest her ingredients.

Having waded in to help pull the kelp up onto the beach, Errant tossed his head, flinging water as he used the momentum to get a soaked strand of hair out of his eyes before replying. "I was not close enough to be sure, but it definitely looked like this was what they were using." He leaned down and gave it a suspicious sniff, wrinkling his nose slightly at the unfamiliar odor - while there was an underpinning of waterlogged plant matter that was a familiar one, if one had spent any time in the swamp, there was a briny, different smell that was unlike anything he'd ever experienced before.

Touching it lightly with his hoof, he looked up at Hang the Moon expectantly. "How would you like to do this?"

Errant's question made Hang the Moon pause as she observed what she had pulled out of the water. It was very long, too long to use in one piece, so she got to work tearing it apart with her mouth and hooves. The strips weren't even but this didn't need to be perfect. She'd found that letting herself make mistakes early on in her process was beneficial later down the line when she could use her experience to know what would and wouldn't work.

"I think-" she said, spitting out a decently long strip from her mouth. "If you wouldn't mind being my pretend patient, I can wrap this around your leg and see what it does." It seemed slippery and soft like this, but perhaps letting it dry out made it stiffen up? Or maybe there were just some properties within the kelp that helped with swelling or pain? She wouldn't know from this experiment, but she could always stick around the area and see if there were kin that knew how to use it and ask them personally.

"If you don't mind, of course," she added with a sheepish grin. "Sorry, I get excited with potential new things to work with."
