Void was unsure. That was a day .. or night? ... to day feeling. Unsure of many things. What was before her, who was talking. What were they even talking about? Her mind wandered away... on to idle thoughts and imagining distant stars.
Yet. YET! She had met one that was different. One that was so.... distracting. So she sought advice. She would listen. Maybe she would even try to speak.
Having heard of good advice was to be had if one but searched and asked, and meant it, and not for idle things like extra fruits or longer hair ... not that she needed longer or more hair.
What was she doing? Oh. Right.
Advice...

The doe wasn’t in the swamp.
She was technically there physically. But clearly her mind was elsewhere, caught in some web of thoughts. She didn’t even notice the wolf that paced behind her, watching, waiting to be noticed.
The Killing Moon shifted back and forth a few times, almost idly.
And eventually, he remained as a stag long enough to say, “excuse me”.

Void tilted her head this way and that, listening. "Oh. In the way?"
She tried to focus for an answer, but shuffled to the side and bumped into a tree, "Oh, sorry!" and shuffled the other way. Her tail got wound across a bush as she sidestepped and she stopped, then leaned down to pull it free. "Oh!"

The Killing Moon simply watched her for a moment, his head tilted quizzically. How fascinating.
There was no point, he realised very swiftly, as she bumped into the tree, in explaining who or what he was. It would be a waste of time and breath to even attempt such a conversation.
And so he kept walking.
“May your children,” he said as he passed her by, “be sharp of mind and presence, quick-witted and wise.” They would clearly need the help.
