[PRP] Reunion at Dusk. (Wings Sleep/Deep Ruin) (Transer from Gaia)

Post by Kinu »

The creatures of the swamp stirred with the cool evening air and the plants seemed to sigh in reply as the heat of the day finally waned. The sound of feathers rustling as a stork took flight caught the eye of a rather large buck and he turned his head for a moment to observe the creature with an unimpressed gaze. A frog croaked somewhere close by and the sound was followed by a complimenting chorus of responses from other frogs in the area. Night was slowly creeping upon the swamp and with a half smile Deep Ruin welcomed it. He preferred this time of day to any other. Early dusk. When the sun was losing its power but the darkness hadn't a steady hold over the sky just yet. It was the time he felt most at peace, though not much ruffled his feathers as it stood.

Ruin wasn't the most social buck at times. Sure, he enjoyed the ladies, but that was as far as his patience for socials affairs extended. He didn't expect to meet anyone tonight, and if so, he fully intended on avoiding them unless they were a lovely, lost doe. He lifted his gaze towards the horizon as his hooves hit firm ground and he listlessly tread into the large, grassy, open area before him. He eyed the small, tender shoots reaching for the heavens, begging the sun to return, and his mind drifted to the past week. To his now grown children who he occasionally glimpsed in passing but never interacted with. He wasn't the best father. He never intended on being a good one. Just so long as they survived to become adults that was his main concern. Though if one knew Ruin well at all the promise of his protection wasn't a sure thing by any means. He usually looked after himself.
